Just got the call!!! Came from SSA personnel office. Offer is for Manchester NH. I'm a first timer, not an insider, no vet preference, high scorer on the register, and will look on map for Manchester after I fly home today. Only issue for me is my Army retirement date requires a class other than the first. I am so honored to have received the call.

I spoke with the SSA Personnel Office. Calls have begun today and will continue next week (no word on calls over the weekend). Only a few selections have been received. Most personnel actions (appointments) will come next week.

So, are calls being made to our "preferred" contact number?? I personally listed my mobile number and my home email. So, roggenbier, did you receive an offer or did you just happen to call SSA Personnel to get this info? Hope it was the former!!!

No offer yet.
I get the impression that they are calling people as they receive the papers from the Chief Judge’s Office and the papers are coming very slowly. They are selecting by region.
New England is Region 1, New York, Region 2, Region 3, the Middle Atlantic, and so forth. Those of us chosen to go the west may not hear until much later in the process.
I want to hear today, but we might not hear until Wednesday.

Congrats ccj!
Given that you are the first Member to get an offer this go around, we'll have to see more of you!

Does this suggest phone calls are going out by region number?

It is reality people. A friend of mine got the call, and he was told he was the second person called. He was also told the person calling was only working on Region 1. It does appear that they are doing it by region. Hang in there folks! ;D

If this is going by regional order...
It is a bonus for those who have a small geographic area west of the Mississippi. It is a negative for those who have a small geographic area east of the Mississippi. For those with high scores and a large geographic area will be considered for mostly east-coast locations.

Assuming they are being called in the order that they were selected.
