I received my score and while it is OK (79+) I cannot tell if they gave me the 5 points for being a vet - they say they did, but later on it says they gave me zero. With 5 points more, I could get on the list anywhere

79 is a very good score.
If the NOR is the same as for other tests, the VP are included...

So what kind of score will get you an interview and offer?

Yes, 79 is a great score. Congrats. the mean (or median? whatever...) is seemingly in the upper 60's, based on previous score polls.

Shourman,
No score "will" get you an interview and offer. You can have an extremely high score and an unlimited GAL and still not get an offer.

factfinder -- the NOR in the beginning says (5) or (10) point vet preference as appropriate, were added.

I received my score today of 58.33. This is significantly lower than my prior score. Interestingly, I notice that the score is still only good through October 2010.

My score went up 5 points from my 2007 score (still below the mean/median).

Got mine - I am really suprised and happy. I heard median scores in the past were in the 50s, actually.

Could someone seriously consider a score of 79 (with or without vet pref) merely "OK"?

Hey Henry - me too - my score is 6 points lower than in 2007 ... I don't get it. Oh well, guess I don't have to worry about buying a black robe. I'm staying put and enjoying it. Good luck to everyone else.

I am suprised by my dismally low score. How do you appeal your score?

How do you appeal your score? Ineffectively, I fear. Good luck. But if you don't know what the score reflects or how it is calculated, how on earth do you appeal? What a process!

There's really no point in appealing since the scores are only good through Oct anyway.
I too am disappointed with my new score which went down.

I made it! :-)
Ok, now what's the next step? How do the scores come into play for the next step? Are there unwritten rules or a certain score range needed to progress? How does the "Cert" work?
Forgive my basic questions...this is all new to me!
