Memo from Judge Cristaudo, dated today and just received, says offers should be made ". . . in the next week or so." Could have been written last week, or it could just be a message to confuse everyone. I thought they would start the offers today or tomorrow. The day is still early.

Anticipation.....its driving me mad...but again this is what claimants have to go through.

Oops, we have plenty of time to seek distractions.

Oops, we have plenty of time to seek distractions. A statement that offers should be out "in the next week or so" incorporates a rough deadline, not a starting point. Were offers to be made later today, for example, that would in no way be inconsistent with Judge Cristaudo's purported statement. Later today does indeed fall within "the next week or so."

Why doesn't someone on the "inside" ask him what he means, and let us know?

I would also point out that becoming sentimentally attached to the concept that 2+2=4 is unwise in the context of the gloriously complex beaurocracy that is SSA.

Just got an e-mail saying "early June" for the offers to go out. Have a nice Memorial Day. This post also supports early June as the offer period.

Don't come to the conclusion that the CALJ is sitting in his office with some arbitrarily-selected release time jotted down for the offers. He is at least as anxious to start the offers rolling as anyone involved in the process. He is not trying to make the process more difficult.
As I have said elsewhere in these threads, he will order offers to be transmitted as soon as he is satisfied that everything is regimental.

Oops, we have plenty of time to seek distractions. Also, "in the next week..." is different than "next week." "In" is not quite as hopeful as "within" the next week or so, but could easily imply it. Furthermore, ALJ did not state what would happen in the next week or so, paraphrasing it as "offers should be made;" the memo might have actually used language that could be interpretted as getting the hiring finalized (i.e. getting all needed responses).

Please. Read my post as it is written and don't speculate that the memo might have said something different. It did not.

I, for one, am spending my time doing something productive - like working on an Appeals Council argument.

If we are in fact notified by phone call, will those calls likely come from Falls Church, Office of Chief ALJ, or OPM in Baltiimore?

They will come from Falls Church, if that is how offers are transmitted.

They will come from Falls Church, if that is how offers are transmitted. And to add on to Morg's observation, the area code is 703 in case anyone is wondering.

Breathe, people, breathe. They will come when they come; the decisions have been made and you are all the same person you were yesterday and will be tomorrow....perhaps better. Sitting by the phone or hunkered here on the boards will not change a single thing. Have a nice dinner; romp with your dog; stroke your cat, enjoy the company of your friends and family...
Breathe.

Good advice, JH. Plus it is almost 500 eastern time and you know the calls aren't going to be made at this time of day.
