I notice the number of individuals viewing the board creeps upward as the sun creeps westward. I wonder if, over the next couple/few days we will break the online-at-one-time record for the forum from February 2008?

I wouldn't rule out offers coming out later in the day. In February 2008 the offers started coming out at around 2:00 p.m. in the east.

That gives me time to go to the bathroom, then.

I think they come by emails as they did last year and as all our notifications this year have come. Time runs short and will run shorter still if calls are the method of contacting the appointed ones.

It would be nice if offers were out today, the same day that a Supreme Court Justice candidate was nominated by President Obama.

The Supreme Court nominee should get some time in the limelight before the real judges get appointed. (Tongue firmly in cheek, as I hope was obvious)

Actually, I think the delay is pragmatic.
OCALJ wants to ensure that its offers are accepted. It would have egg on its face if it offered an ALJ position to someone if that person was nominated by the President the same day and accepted an ALJ position.
OCALJ simply did not want to risk one-upping the President.
My sympathy for those of you who were in the running, but did not get nominated by President Obama. But there might be some hope: she might get "Borked".
I think OCALJ is ready now.

You are right, OD. I had resigned myself that there still would be no beagle on the Supremes, nor alas, a hare, so the announcement was not a complete surprise. At least the correct gender was selected. I forgot to look and see if she was correctly handed (i.e. left) - meaning she is in her right mind.
So now that we are all ready - let the offers and acceptances begin!

Another southpaw here also. Just curious - any of you other southpaw legal types begin writing from right to left at an early age? I did - guess it made sense to me since people writing with their right hand wrote from left to right!

I am a southpaw, but I can say that I never wrote right to left. I wanted to be like everyone else, try as I may, so I turned the paper to accommodate.

So far, this is the highest I've seen it in quite a while. It started to climb into the 20s pretty regularly when Propmaster started this thread. Now, it is breaking out of the 20s and into the 30s.... I know it will change again by the time I post this, but it is interesting to watch...

I hope I can read this forum on my Blackberry while traveling to Alabama. I will go into withdrawal if I have to wait until I get there!
