Pa is right. Patience. But I know it is hard to be patient when you hear the horrow stories of what can fall through the crack. But so long as there are others out there who have not gotten the call, you can be pretty sure you are just part of the "hurry up and wait" atmosphere that will take over your life at SSA. But always remember-though those around you will get to you in their own sweet unknowable time-anything that is requested of you was due yesterday! :-)

I just faxed and did not email materials. Now I am really concerned because I took Burroughs' advice that they would print them out of the memory. At least I have proof of my attempts to fax which I mentioned in the email I sent Friday. Based on what I read here it seems like they ignore emails and I'd better start calling tomorrow. Unfortunately I can't interview until after June 12.
The one hope I have is that maybe they are trying to set up panels for a third week and that is the reason they haven't called. BTW, do we have any idea how many of these applicants need interviews?

There is no reason to doubt that that will occur here. No one except them knows how may they are interviewing but its probably around 350 to 400 (taking into account those who have been passed over and thrice-struck). That is alot of calling and emailing. I would get proactive with these overworked folks at OCALJ who are calling and emailing at some point, but I would not deign to advise exactly when. I will leave that up to other folks here.

Being one of "haven't been called yets"...I did speak to Avery Burroughs on Friday and she had my app in her hand b/c I hadn't signed the last page of the fed dec, (DOH!) so I had to refax that in. I faxed mine on Saturday May 29th--she did verify that it had been received (duh!) and said I would be called unless I had already been interviewed (I have not). But she doesn't work for the office that makes the calls so had no further info. I agree with PA--we all will be interviewed...Maybe they just reached a logjam with scheduling. It doesn't sound like any calls were made on Saturday.

Thanks for the info, Arlene. I did not realize that Avery was not in the office calling for interviews. I wonder what office that is and whether anyone knows of a contact person.

The calls, and confirming email after the calls, are coming from staff in the Division of Training and Human Resources. Avery and Bob Gehlken are in a division with Personnel Policy in the title.

I heard back this morning and I was correct to be concerned. They never did receive my faxed info. I will be re-faxing it.

arlene 25: I would go ahead and email Laura Stacks at HR and see if there may have been an oversight. She has been very responsive to my emails. She is at Laura.Stacks@ssa.gov

observer, I was offered June 16th at 4 pm. I was able to take that time, so I did. I didn't ask if other times were available...even though 4 pm is a snoozer time.

I was told there were no times in week 2. The time I was given in week 1 was a cancellation. So, what you ended up with may have been, as well. This is all such a mystery.

Finally, got the call today. I was lucky to find a place to stay at all and it isn't great. I'm interviewing next Wed at 2 pm. I'll take a later flight out and get home that evening, assuming all goes well.
