Hattiesburg has NO openings for an ALJ and several judges on the transfer list to come to this great office!

Certainly everyone's thoughts and best wishes are with the good folks of Hattiesburg after that devastating tornado. I hope all are safe.

I only see one name on the transfer list to Hattiesburg, MS and he is from Moreno Valley, CA. I also found three that want to get out of Hattiesburg, MS.. Transfer list is dated September 12. 2012. Should be a new one soon??

NY Metro area is on my list. Is there a reason why new hires often start in White Plains and sometimes Hartford CT and then often transfer out? I would think that those offices are as desirable as the others in the metro area.

How about in and out of Seattle? I would very much appreciate any word there. Thanks in advance.

Sometimes people put their names on the transfer list only to decline transfer offers every year. Also, I've heard that at least two ALJ's from the most recent class have put their names on the list for H'burg. They should be on list published in March,2013. Btw, the judge from Moreno Valley on the list for Hattiesburg is female.

Seattle is probably all sewn up for a good while. There are at least 6 people on the transfer list and I know a few who will take a transfer if offered. Plus the workload in Seattle is down, so even if an ALJ transfers or retires, there may not be an opening. Sorry for the sad news.

I'll play along too. ;-) Any word on how many people want to transfer into Sioux Falls, South Dakota? I would imagine not very many people want to transfer to a satellite office, but stranger things have happened.

Arrgh, thanks for the info Justwaiting. That is bad news, not my only choice but it is my first. Oh well, as has repeatedly been said here, it is a lottery - so onward we go!

I just received an email from a friend who is an ALJ - first SSA, now OSHRC. She told me that I need to visit USA Jobs every day. She thinks it may come out Friday or early next week. Good luck to all who opt to continue the marathon!

Question: If I apply anew for the upcoming announcement, will I not be considered for the expected cert? I am on the current registry.

Question: If I apply anew for the upcoming announcement, will I not be considered for the expected cert? I am on the current registry. One has nothing to do with the other, so you can be on the new cert and do the reapplication. (I said the same thing in a longer version in the other thread where you asked the same question. )
