Can we stop giving tips to those who have weeks and months to study? Not trying to be a jerk but it seems unfair to those of us who went in the first rounds, as was pointed out by the testing proctors. Agree, it is one thing to describe temperature, smoking, breaks, food, lodging, transportation and logistics but the playing field should be the same for the actual testing. Prepare however you want to prepare for the test but you should not seek tips from folks who had less time to prepare and who took the test in the early weeks. I am all for sharing information and have shared plenty of information on what my experience was but stop asking for tips that is going to give you an advantage--that is not what this board is for.

The comments above are of value. Namely, the ALJ folks appeared to have deliberately NOT imposed a required minimum score on the LBMT. They have stated a minimum required score for the WD and SI (refer to the official job announcement).
The entire sentence has: "Final Numerical Rating: Applicants who complete all portions of the assessment process and achieve a minimum required score on both the WD and SI will be issued a final numerical rating on a scale of 1 – 100. The rating will be based on the scores assigned for the SJT/Writing Sample/Experience Assessment, WD/LBMT, and SI components of the examination with a maximum possible total score of 100, excluding veterans' preference."
To me it is obvious that the LBMT will have A SCORE attached to it, and likely weighed appropriately. I think the key is that there is no required minimum score for the LBMT to make the cut; it is simply factored into the overall score.
That is probably a good thing! Personally, I bought the book for logic based measurement tests and will give it my best. I do find some solace though in knowing that the real crux of the exam will be the WD and SI.

Ok then, I suggest for study materials that everyone review the complete works of Theodor Geisel.

At this point, since many have tested, discussing specific materials and wanting comment is a bit over the top in my opinion. I have to agree with zepplin and exjag on this. Tips on temp, smoking, etc may indeed decrease stress, but it is by far NOT the same as substantive testing material. Before anyone started taking the tests we all discussed various materials but now that the process is under way, I think comments should be curtailed on specifics.

Ok then, I suggest for study materials that everyone review the complete works of Theodor Geisel. Wow, I love Dr. Seuss. As he said in Oh, The Places You'll Go: "You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go...” Use your own brains as you have, up until this point, to get this far.

So what did we decide about the LBMT having a minimum passing score or not? Because it would be comforting for me to know that it did not right now, if you know what I mean. Check out page 14 of the "DC Trip Reports" thread. That seems to be the most current discussion on that issue.

I DO know what you mean devildog, I do. As we used to say on active duty "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?" That was my reaction to the LBMT.

I spoke to six folks in my test group--did not discuss specifics of LBMT just asked "how did you feel about the LBMT?"--we all had the same feeling on the test and the feeling was not positive. Having said that, we are all pretty much on the same boat with regards to that testing component.

I think it will only add points for those few correct answers. That is how I am approaching it! LOL!

Since I "crushed" it in half the allotted time, leaving me time for some Pilates and a personal best planking session, I'm hoping it's weighted quite heavily.
