Congrats to those that received offers! While Mount Pleasant is a fairly small town (with a casino), it is close to the tri-cities (Midland, Saginaw & Bay City). Midland has historically been known to have a good school system -- and I think that is still true.

Midland has historically been known to have a good school system -- and I think that is still true. Thank you. I have always lived in the mid-south (Oklahoma & Texas) except for brief stints in DC. I am looking forward to a new adventure. My mom already sent me a link to buy silks. LOL. Congrats to everyone who got the call yesterday and here's to hoping many more will know the excitement that call brings. For what it's worth - I was scheduled to take phase 3 September 16th & 17th so maybe a slot has opened up in that regard.

When did those who received offers take the tests? I am scheduled to test in DC next week for the writing and logic-based tests, and for the structured interview. Did I miss out on offers? Or is my testing date for a new round of offers? Thanks for any input, folks.

Heard through the grapevine...offer accepted YESTERDAY for Dallas North. Wow. Always thought Texas cities were hard to get to because of the cost of living. Interesting. Maybe not all offices there are the same.

Or is my testing date for a new round of offers? Thanks for any input, folks. These offers are for the old Register. No offense sherby, but if you thought these offers of ALJ positions were going to people who just went to DC for phase 3 testing, i'm afraid you have a real let down coming. Check out the FAQ threads on the timelines and periods between testing, getting scored, making a cert, interviewing with an agency and finally getting an offer. The folks getting offers yesterday and today have been on this register for quite some time, years in some cases. In fact, the cert they have been hired from is more than a few months old itself. Just dont get your hopes up for any kind of quick turnaroud. lots of slip between the cup and the lip my friend. Marathon not a sprint. Typical government hurry up and wait. And all the other cliches are dead on right in this little game.

jlee, Mount Pleasant is a great little town, as long as you aren't into night life or lots of excitement. We only have about 24,000 people, double that with the college kids (Central Michigan University). We have a casino, but no real bookstore. Our schools are pretty good. We're about 40 minutes from Midland, which is slightly bigger and has a lot more to do. We're about an hour from Lansing, which is our state capital. We are dead center in the state, so a couple hours in any direction (except south) will get you to one of our great lakes. We are very short-handed in the judge department, so I'm looking forward to having you here! I'm a writer for this ODAR, but I'm going to DC on September 9 and 10, so who knows? If I'm very lucky, maybe we'll only overlap here for a year or so (although I'd love to stay right here). Feel free to message me if you have any specific questions about the town, our office, etc. welcome aboard!

Grapevine, Tupelo, Mississippi. Yesterday or today? That's 7 down, 35 to go, assuming all cities still have openings and those opening are actually being filled (yes, I know they aren't supposed to hire more than 35, but I like this number better). I like the way you think, patiently. Keep the faith!

Greetings all, Received an offer via voicemail for Toledo OH. Will have more info tomorrow- I started out in Toledo, but transferrd out closer to home - 2300 miles away - after a year because of a pregnant wife who had stayed behind and a new-born son (born 3 months before transfer went through). Toledo - for it's size - has some nice restaurants, a fine art museum and an excellent zoo. If you like sports (NCAA, MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, etc.) and/or the arts, It's close to Ann Arbor (50 miles), Detroit (60), Cleveland (90) and Columbus (140). I enjoyed my time there, but had to get back home, for the reasons noted above.

Greenville has come a long way in the last couple of decades. It is relatively close to Atlanta, has a BMW plant, the airport has grown (thanks to BMW) and now has a medical school (affiliated with the University of South Carolina). And it is not as hot as Columbia. Congrats to all.

They've hired for Eugene more than once in the last few years. Filled two slots there, I think, in 2011.
