Omg. Just got it. WD did not meet minimum. Kind of hard to believe because I write winning circuit court briefs for a living. I shall appeal. Godspeed to the rest of you. Appeal the he** out of it!

Did everyone who went to DC get on the register of eligible candidates? Was there a cutoff? No, several have posted that their WD did not meet the minimum, so, they are not on the register. More appeals. Raised my score from last time, but not as much as I had hoped or that others have done in the past. But, my GAL is much bigger than it was to start with last time.

See Details checking in with bad news for myself. WD did not meet the minimum score. Hopefully other SD individuals have better luck. I think I'm the first one to check in with negative news. Hopefully the last. Best of luck to you all. I am also "see details" and checking in with bad news. No minimum scores for me. No score was given to me and I can't even determine how my scores compared to the minimum score. Perhaps this alone is a reason to appeal. I guess I will have to decide if an appeal is the way to go. I wish all of you the best whether you reeive good news or bad news.

Any estimate as to how many of us are left? Based on the See Details v. Complete poll and prior estimates, 1200?

Any estimate as to how many of us are left? Based on the See Details v. Complete poll and prior estimates, 1200? It's a bit early to even guess at that, and at best we are only about 35-38 percent participation here on the board. To answer some other questions, no, you can't see your scores on each part of the exam. A somewhat lower score (60's, low 70's) is helped with a wider GAL. Plenty of 60s and 70s hired over the life of the current register.

I was a 10-point vet with a SD. Did not meet the minimum on the WD. Disappointed, but not really as bummed as I thought I would be. I think I jumped to the final stage of grief...acceptance.

I got a NOR that says my bar status is inadequate. But I am an active member of the bar. Someone got one like that last time around -- missing their date of admission. Appealed, won, I think they are now an ALJ.

Any chance of a poll or other info on openings or requested locations? My score is right in the range of most, it seems, and all my locations are in Michigan plus one Ohio. I'm curious how that will affect my chances.

Depends entirely on whether there are openings there or not and that we won't know until there is a Cert.

That was the danger of the restricted GAL - you've gone through this whole process and now that you have a score - you're thinking "Kentucky might not be so bad, after all..."

Although I have been sidelined by The Man (for now), I do want to congratulate all who made it. It was a long hard road, and I admire you for making it!

Congratulations to everyone going on to next round. I don't even know what my score is, but I was informed that my score in the Situational Judgment Test (SJT), Writing Sample, and Experience Assessment is not within the range of the higher scored sub-group. Guess I am a bigger dumb ass than first believed.

I was SD. I can't believe I did not score well enough for the WD to get a NOR. I thought the WD section went well. The appeal may shed some light on what happened.

Guess I am a bigger dumb ass than first believed. So you were not invited to DC for the last phase of testing? This shows that those who were eliminated at earlier phases are getting their official NORs now as well. Let the appeals begin. And, a bit of advice to anyone who might be thinking about appealing the score they got, which is also permitted. An appeal can result in a LOWER score too.

Yes, I'm very curious. What information would an appeal reveal? I've been writing briefs for 25 years, was EIC of law review, was a judicial clerk for a state supreme court justice and a federal appellate court judge and have taught legal writing at a law school for twenty years. . . wth? I don't think it "reveals" anything. You submit your appeal, and at some point (who knows how long) they send you the results of your appeal-- a score, still a no score, or a different score than you had, or the same score.

Generally, for writing, there are three graders. I wonder what the protocol was for the WD? If there was quality control, I can only assume I really botched it. I've botched plenty of things--but this does not feel right. I'll get over it, but would love to know the reason. Oh well.

Could someone explain the definition of "SD" please? People keep posting that they were "SD"; for the life of me, I can't figure out what they're talking about.

With a narrow GAL, you generally need a good score, but if you make a cert, and they like you, you have a chance.
DC area is popular, and doesn't show up on certs every time.
