Has anyone submitted attachments in support of their appeal? I did not, but I was eliminated after the SJT stage. For folks who were eliminated based upon licensure requirements I'd suggest you may want to attach documents to establish that you provided licensure information as requested in the application that showed you meet the qualifications, and as others have suggested, you may want to attach a letter or printout from your bar membership showing you have an active bar membership from x date to present.

Has anyone submitted attachments in support of their appeal? I was denied based on my bar license and attached my active bar cards and a letter from my bar stating that I was considered to be in good standing during the time that I was inactive working for the judiciary.

I submitted Certificates of Good Standing from both bars in which I am a member, to show that I was in good standing all the time including while being on judicial status.

I was eliminated at the SJT stage as well, and attached a number of filings to my appeal. The only verifying document I could list initially to the biggest case of my career was the settlement document, available on Westlaw, which does not list the names of the attorneys and does not indicate the complexity of the case. All other verifying documents are only available inside the agency. I attached some of these documents, and contace information for the attorneys within the agency who provided the documents, and who could verify details of the case. We'll see . . .

Did anyone NOT get a verification email that their appeal was received? I initially wrote in with a question and got an email back that my appeal was received. I replied that I had not sent an appeal and that an appeal would be sent separately. When I sent my appeal email, I never got a verification. I then sent a third email inquiring to see if the correct one was credited. No response to that either. I bumped it last week by sending another reply inquiring, but have gotten nothing but silence.

Stillwaiting, I think that was a great idea, documenting your cases. I wish I would have thought of that. Basileia, I did get a verification email. I included a Privacy Act request in my appeal and received another email specific to it. I followed through with my Privacy Act request.

I am back on this site for the first time in a while. I was one of the unlucky ones who passed the first round but did not get an e-mail advising me accordingly. I waited until May 14 last year to e-mail OPM and that was too late - I was told I'd missed the boat BY FOUR DAYS and the fact that I didn't get the second round e-mail was on me, not on them. (By the way, even though I followed up on my May 14 contact with OPM three more times, it wasn't until mid-June that I got the "too late" response.) From March 6, 2013, the day I applied, forward, I had checked my e-mail and my spam folder every day, I had provided correct information, and there were no other filters on my end which would've prevented me from receiving the message. OPM claimed that the e-mail advising me to proceed to the second round had been sent April 2. So - in mid-June, 2013, I submitted my appeal, receipt of which promptly was acknowledged. However, I have not heard a word since then. Any advice? Any thoughts? I need the guidance of those of you who know more about this system than I do. Thanks - Its a bummer your e-mail did not show up and that by the time you realized you had been invited to Phase II it was four days past the deadline to complete the online testing. OPM prepared for this type of issue. They specifically stated in the announcement that they were not going to be responsible for e-mail issues. I suspect they have a record of all the e-mails they sent out and if they have your e-mail address correct then they are going to deny your appeal by saying "we sent the e-mail but are not responsible for it getting lost in cyber space." Like you I checked my folder every day but I also checked this board every day and the board went crazy when they sent out the invitations. It sounds like you did not check or were unaware of the board when those notices went out. There will be a next time so just be prepared to apply when they announce the test again.

Did anyone else get another generic "we got your appeal email" today? I did but I can't tell that anything changed. Maybe my appeal was just assigned to someone.

Numbersix: just had to write in and say I love your avatar. Reminds me of "Finding Nemo."

I got an e-mail this morning acknowledging my appeal. I filed my appeal several weeks ago. I had kind of put it out of my mind. Anyone else get this e-mail?

Sorry meant to include this because I don't know what it means. I need to go back and look but I think this is the second e-mail acknowledging my appeal. Any thoughts on the "issue change"? Its seems very quick in government time for anyone to actually be looking at the appeals.
Notification of Issue Change The following changes have been made to this Issue: Appended a Description. Workspace: ALJ Application Issue: Appeal - ALJ2013-847661 / APPEAL Issue Number: 21292

Is "issue" a euphemism for "appeal"? I'm curious - are you the 292nd appeal, or 1,292? I doubt 21,292 folks appealed. Wish I could help, but glad you brought this up.

No I did not find anything appended to the e-mail. My original e-mail was at the bottom of this reply. It also had a link "click here to view in browser". However when I clicked that link I was redirected to "https://eshelp.opm.gov/MRcgi/MRlogin.pl?DL=21292DC36 which appears to be an ALJ Application site. I do not have a user name or password for this site. I applied through USA Jobs. It is a bit of a mystery to me.

Kansascity, as I posted the other day, I got a second acknowledgement email but it didn't have all the stuff attached yours did.
However, seelaw it did say "Ticket Number: 21275" for whatever that is worth.

I think it's very possible they've received ~22k emails since the start if the ALJ process, and each one could merit and issue number.

Assuming 4000 applicants got cut at various points in the process, and 3-5 emails each, OPM could easily surpass 20,000. I can't imagine a worse job than fielding ALJ applicant appeals, poor things.

I sent my appeal and shortly thereafter received this response:
Ticket Information The Subject of your message to us when opening this ticket was: APPEAL Ticket Number: 211** Last edited: Date and time Status of Ticket: Request Ticket Created: Date and time List of attached files, if any:
A couple weeks later I received this:
The Subject of your message to us when opening this ticket was: APPEAL Ticket Number: 211** Last edited: New Date and time Status of Ticket: Appeals, IMWD Ticket Created: Original date and time List of attached files, if any:
The only thing that changed on mine was that they classified what I was appealing more precisely. That suggest someone has started a cursory review. Probably nothing significant at this point. I think it'll be awhile before we hear anything substantive from the appeals.
