Hopefalg, Yes. The confirmation of non-selection is made after the offers are all out and you already know. Little sprinkle of salt in the wound.

Funk - that's not a 2-week period - that's tomorrow, through next Thursday before the July 4th Holiday - I mistakenly put July 30 in my original response. June 30 is this upcoming Monday. I only asked because if they report tomorrow, and start working tomorrow, would they stop and reconvene on Monday? If they worked through the weekend that's 5 full days, plus travel on Friday and Thursday. But, if they're traveling tomorrow, getting the weekend off, they'll only have 3 days - essentially Monday through Wednesday, and traveling on Thursday before July 4th. As far as work days, the difference is almost half if they don't work the weekend of the rumored period. 3 versus 5. Right you are, Ace. This work from home sched has me all screwed up. Today feels like my Monday. My new guess is today is a travel day. Meet, greet and set the parameters tomorrow. Weekend off, (but maybe they work and get credit time) and reassemble for the big dart board, drunk monkey selection fest MTW and drop off the final selections to ocalj before heading out on the third......or not that at all. Funky, are you suggesting that the selectors are drunk monkeys? I thought prior intel was that selections would be made by a drunk, a chimp, and a trade school drop out. Or are you suggesting that they will be selecting drunk monkeys to be ALJs? If so, how do you explain my not making the certs?

Funky, when the calls come, there seems to be no reason as to which phone number they will call, however, with that said, I can almost bet that they will call you when you are working at home and they will call your office number.. I had to give a friend my password number to check my voice mail at the office and there it were..

Perhaps, gary you are either not drunk enough or your tail is not quite long enough to qualify! However, it could explain a few things about some of those on the cert. (kidding)

All sounds very reasonable - they didn't want to waste any time on Monday, probably with the looming 4th of July Holiday as a projected deadline to get the selections made. Let's take the rolling offers off the table for a minute - does your purely (but reasonably) WAG timeline suggest anything other than offers beginning July 7th? I know, I know, marathon not a sprint - but, seriously, this is going to happen in July, right? And July is Tuesday.

Are you going to eat, work, sleep, etc with your phone? Yes. If you put your phone in a sandwich bag, it will also work in the shower. I've already tested it.

Remember do not put the cart before the horse because there is no guarantee you will receive a position (however I do think your odds are good). I don't think anyone on the Board is an anxious as you. Yes, the others are hoping for a quick turnaround, but you seem to want out of your present job yesterday.

I think DD is right. Couple different anonymous sources have said offers in "mid july." My bet is they work next week making the picks then deliver their work product to ocalj the third. Ocalj has it for a.week (the week of July 7) and offers start going out July 14.
Again, pure guess.

And if the tension is palpable now....just wait till the first offer recipient reports on the day they start.
You wait, but no call that day. Another day and a couple members report. Then a day with no one reporting...and that drags on for three weeks. Ugh

I don't think anyone on the Board is an anxious as you. Yes, the others are hoping for a quick turnaround, but you seem to want out of your present job yesterday. Not at all. I'm completely happy in my job and location - in fact, I'd like to get appointed here. But, now that I've committed to the process, I want an answer - now - to "Yes/No" and where - I have about 635 things on hold that are awaiting the answers to those - I feel frozen in time. No, I can't assume I'm not getting the job, because if I do, I have to move heaven and earth to to juggle things. I'm making day to day plans as if I'm not, but having branches and sequels should things change - and I'm running out of time on all of those...

I understand ace as it is difficult when you don't know one way or the other and some work sits in limbo. I was just kidding around. I, like you, if I was on this cert (and hopefully when I am on the next one), will be just as anxious as you to receive an answer one way or the other about being hired. I continue to wish you luck along with everyone else. Hopefully, one day 99% or more of us will acquire an ALJ position, but I know the reality in the end is only about 33% of the Register is ever going to be hired whether it is because of GAL issues, a bad interview or 3 strikes, etc.

You do get an email eventually that you were not selected. Ah, thanks. But it comes after all the calls have been made, right, so you already know whether you've been selected by the time you get it? I forgot about the Email thing. Yes, quite right, they started that in 2011 I think and it was such a welcome communication to get a week or two after all that knew they didn't get the call and they just started to dry their eyes. Kind of the same feeling one would get when receiving a letter confirming that you were fired two weeks before. I think one of the greatest tests of character is poise in the face of disappointment. It is especially hard when others know you are on the cert and they keep asking, "did you get a call?" I stopped telling people that I was on the cert because certainly if & when I did get a call, everyone in creation would know about it within minutes (with the possible exception of my ex-wife and her attorney). I hope the best for all and that there will be many calls for all of you. Obviously we know there will be some disappointments. Keep your head up, your aim straight and keep trying. Don't give up.

I get asked multiple times per day. Family, friends, and co-workers.

cowboy was on five certs. Five freakin' certs. He kept his head high and answered the same old questions (well meaning of course) with aplomb.
He got hired after all this. I would bet my next paycheck he's a heckuva ALJ. He knows the "thrill of victory and the agony of defeat". And having known that the sound of the call was that much sweeter.
Thanks for your posts cowboy.

Thanks for your posts cowboy. Made me think of this - But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! One of my favorite film quotes.

Isn't it " do not put the cert (not cart) before the horse"....
