Don't be too discouraged. If you win your appeal, then you will be put back into the process to finish up your application. I hope some of us are successful before the list expires. If you were booted at Step 1, you'll go back to Step 1, etc. For those of us that completed the SI in DC, I would expect all that is left is to release our scores and get on the next cert. Those returned to earlier steps will continue to be processed. Remember OPM is still processing new applications twice a year for the 10 point vets.
Good Luck.

Winning the appeal gets you placed on the Register and will share equal footing with those already on it. There's still plenty of slots to be filled. The general info/consensus is that ODAR is looking to hire 130 MORE this year and that the Register will go for at least 1 to 2 years more after that. Even after the current big hiring push, there will be retirements and resignations opening spots from time to time, and the Register will still be the source from which those slots are filled.
Yes, it's a long haul, but it is not a hopeless one.

I stand corrected. I guess it depends upon the stage at which you got dropped out of the process. But there IS value to getting through the process and being placed on the Register.

Numbersix, I have been wondering the same thing. A few of the cities on the current cert are on my limited GAL. I was hoping to have an answer to my appeal (either way) before this set of cert was delivered. I am trying to stay positive like st8alj suggests.

I now prefer checking this board every 2-3 months under keyword "appeal" as opposed to the uncertainty and angst of the process. Although if you would have asked me then, I would have told you I preferred the process as opposed to landing in the rejected WD heap.
