I too am a long time lurker but would be even more insane through this process without the board. So thanks to everyone who has posted and shared intel. Even if I feel like the process is making me crazy there is some comfort in knowing I'm not crazy alone. Maybe I'll get on a cert before I figure out how to do an avatar. ?. Hope to see all of you in FC one day

Hope to see all of you in FC one day Welcome aboard tbunlaw! I fall somewhere in the middle here. I'm not a daily poster, but I like to add my 2 cents. I agree that this process would be absolutely impossible without the knowledge and insight of the good people who contribute to this board. I was a long time lurker before my first post. And I am a better man for deciding to jump in ... lol. So, I concur that all you continuing lurkers should add your insights, concerns and humor to this great community. We are all better for it. Enjoy the weekend!

Welcome aboard, tbun and yellow bird! Your thoughts on this Peeps controversy? One of my commands encouraged Peeps dioramas during the spring. Sea law would've been proud of the Star Peeps exhibits that seemed to come around - and win - every year...
And, sure beats twiddling.

So what's your favorite Halloween candy (while we are waiting, and maybe we can get some other folks to join in and get comfortable posting before we get some real news)? (Chocolate-covered crickets need not apply!)

Baby Ruths for me. I steal any dark chocolate from my kids, not too particular.
I also make rice crispy treats in some halloween shape (candy corn, pumpkin, etc.) complete with chocolate drizzle for effect to hand out to the neighbor's kids. It's nice to live in crapland where people trust your homemade treats!

You can make chocolate "insects" by mixing chow mein noodles and melted dark chocolate (I just use chocolate chips), dropping a spoonful on wax paper, and adding google eye candies. These can be eaten alone or look good topping cupcakes.

I know what your sthingyful is based on earlier discussions about words subsitutions - but what are google eye candies?!?

And if no dark chocolate is available, Snickers, Baby Ruth, Mr. Goodbar....

You get them from wiltons. They are white eyes with a black center. They look like the google eye craft thingys but the centers don't jiggle. I suppose if you're a risk taker you could take any white round candy and use a Sharpee to make a dot in the middle. I assume that would not be healthy, but it would look fine.
You might try the dark chocolate snickers - hard to find but well worth the search!

Dark chocolate Godiva truffles, Ghirardelli squares, Toblerone; Dark chocolate M&Ms, Mounds; Dark chocolate covered cashews, pecans, blueberries... the list of decadence goes on and on. There are several brands that make the 65%, 75%, 80%, and 90% cacao chocolate bars. The high end of that is kind of like eating a bar of baking chocolate--too powdery and dry for my taste. But you have to experience it at least once, if you haven't already.

Or I will be buying a new set of clothes to accommodate this chocolate discussion! LOL!

IMHO, the best dark chocolate truffles are by Harry & David.
And if you can find it, Hagan Daas Belgian chocolate ice cream has dark chocolate shavings in it. Delish.

Dang ... now I've got the munchies. In that case would it be correct to conclude your top locations are in Colorado or Washington State?

The only thing I'm under the influence of is silver-tongued avatars promising Godiva and other dark chocolate temptations.
