sorry, I collect marriott points, so my loyalties go to them. Westin's can be very nice, but difficult to get the government rate in any decent (or resort) city for more than a night. There is a Ritz Carlton in Pentagon City . . . they actually do have the government rate, but you have to book it about 6 months in advance!!!

I suggest all of you NODARs provide feedback to Falls Church and tell them to find another residence inn - isn't there one in Old Town Alexandria by the King Street metro? That would be a great location. I've stayed at the Embassy Suites across from the King Street station, but I'm not sure if there is a Residence Inn around there. I assume part of the consideration is distance and traffic to HQ Falls Church. Not being familiar with DC, I'm not sure if Alexandria is better or worse than Pentagon City in that area.

Ah, if you need to be close to FC, then there's 5 other Residence Inns:Rosslyn, Courthouse and Ballston metro stops, Tysons and Merrifield/FC. There's the Ritz in Tyson's Corner for Anotherfed.... these are all a few miles closer to FC than either Crystal City or Old Town. I'm just looking out for the Scobies - presumably the October NODARs are already booked into the current campground.

In fact, I'll do just that: I volunteer to save taxpayers money by not requiring a hotel room during training. (e.g., hire me, save money)

I suspect many in the current class may be sleeping under training room tables if they are hanging out with Bag Lady.

I'm with you. I have a very comfortable RV that I will leave in the parking lot. We can share the cost of a loaf of bread and some PB & J and we will be good to go. Bob needs to know that we are prepared to do whatever it takes to further the interests of ODAR and the tax paying public.

Its not fair you using your geographic proximity to the training site as an advantage.

I joking suggested getting an AirStream and parking it in the ODAR parking lot. She reminded me of Gonzo from Trapper John MD. I could do an RV for four weeks or 7.

I see, G, that you have cast your lot with the Pernell Roberts Trapper John, rather than the Wayne Rogers Trapper John or the Elliott Gould Trapper John.

If the SCOBIES are training in early 2015 I don't suppose anybody will be willing to volunteer to sleep on a park bench covered by newspapers.

Better to find a nearby Walmart and put on your jogging shoes!

The Wayne Rogers Trapper John is much more familiar to me because M*A*S*H had such a long shelf life in syndication and so it is the one I think of when I think of that character but if I needed a surgeon I would probably rather have had Pernell Roberts do the cutting.

The Pernell Roberts Trapper John would probably be the wisest choice for a surgeon since as I recall he didn't have as serious a drinking problem as the Wayne Rogers or the Elliott Gould Trapper John.
