From what I recall, it took them two weeks to schedule my interview for the first cert. Things seem to be moving faster this time. They will get to you!

Yeah - the only way to make that timeline was to do parallel processing this time. It is heartening to see that they are learning as they go. Working off a seemingly much tighter timeline this time - we're looking at a difference between May 2nd emails, June interviews, July/August offers for August/September report dates and September/October training.
Now - we're talking about November 2nd emails for November interviews, December offers, January report and February training. Roughly 6 1/2 months compressed down to about 4.

Bob -- and by that I mean the royal Bob, as in all who work with, for, or near Bob -- is the smartest human being I know. If anybody can Lean Six Sigma this 800 pound gorilla that is SSA ALJ selection into a suitcase-portable 400 pound gorilla, it's Bob. Go Bob! Keep fighting the good fight!

I received the interview scheduling call a couple of hours ago. I took what she called the last available slot prior to 11/19. I assume there is more than one person and the list could have been her list or a joint list. My point is that if you are worried about only one or two days notice, the appear to be closing in on the 21st and no pressure to come before the 19th. Have not turned in my paperwork,

A few questions:
Can the Managing Partner of my law firm be a professional reference if he is not my immediate supervisor?
Can a judge that I appear before often and have a friendly relationship be a professional reference?
Any opinion on a court reporter as a professional reference?
Thanks in advance for your input.

A few questions: Can the Managing Partner of my law firm be a professional reference if he is not my immediate supervisor? Can a judge that I appear before often and have a friendly relationship be a professional reference? Any opinion on a court reporter as a professional reference? Thanks in advance for your input. The form asks for your rating supervisor so I took that to mean whoever does your reviews. Unless you just want another reference and are not asking for the person who they want as a supervisor.. Not sure which one you mean. As to the judge, I think as long as the judge knows your ability it would be ok. After all if you appear before the judge often, presumably you do not have a relationship that would be an ethical concern. And anyone who can attest to your ability like the court reporter should be ok as a general reference. I do think that the more attorney and judge references you can get the better though. But that is just my opinion.

How about this situation? An applicant (who shall remain nameless) had a short stint with an employer near the beginning of the 15 year reporting period. This person did not maintained contact with the former supervisor from tihis job. When the applicant called the employer, there was no record of the supervisor or any of the other managers from that time. The applicant maintained contact with a handful of coworkers. Do you think a coworker could serve in lieu of a supervisor? The employer can and will verify the paste polymer of the applicant.
Thoughts?

I am in the same situation. The building is there but a quick web check showed that nobody I know presently occupies it. My former boss got married, kept her name, retired, and took her husband's name. I knew him as John. No idea what their last name is. Assuming she is still aiive, I have NO IDEA how to contact her. I am listing a coworker I have kept in touch with as my mentor, which is an accurate description of her role, even though it was not a formal supervisory relationship. I may eat my words, but I do think it is possible to over think this stuff.

Explain the situation and give as good a reference as you can for that time. What else can you do? I am sure this happens often especially when getting to the tail end of the 15 year mark.

I also received 2 Personal History form attachments and am still missing an email that included the Background Questionnaire Consent and Release Form. Could someone please post or message that form for me? I will be in your debt and will pay it forward if I get the chance.

I understand that I must have my paperwork submitted to ODAR by November 10,2014 close of business.
What is the "close of business"??
Also, how soon should I expect my references to be contacted after November 10, 2014? Does ODAR interview first and then contact references?
I am really interested to know when my managing attorney may be contacted.
