You can always ask the cabbie who drops you off for her/his number to call after the interview is over to come pick you up. If they aren't available, they will get dispatch to help you out, but if you tip well the first round, they usually aren't far. "City Life According to Miss."

Five of us interviewed at the same time. Three of us finished in 50 to 60 minutes.

Ominous. 5 went in, and only three came out... I like my odds. Better than a coin flip. Tracking others' interview times made me extremely nervous following the SI. Can believe its been 14 months since that big ball of fun.

Can believe its been 14 months since that big ball of fun. For some of us, it's been less than 14, but more than a year. I was in the "brand new government shutdown" group. Four had the same time as I did, we mostly all got called back before the scheduled time, I was the last to be called back, so all the others were gone when I got out. Now to get my reimbursement paperwork done.

As far as the other two - either they talked really fast or chessparent may be right - they could still be in there. The three of us who finished about the same time met up in the downstairs lobby within a few minutes of each other. No stalking involved.

Just to be clear, 5 went into 5 different interview rooms or all 5 were interviewed at the same time by the same panel? Five separate panels one for each candidate. Interview panels are two individuals from SSA (i.e., Chief ALJs, Regional Chief ALJs, etc.), which most of the time are made up of one male and one female interviewer. I can't say anymore regarding the process because of confidentiality. Good luck! ***However, I do like your idea of all five candidates interviewing at the same time. It could be like a game of Jeopardy where everyone rings a buzzer to determine who can give the answer to a question. LOL!***

I was picturing 5 candidates and 2-3 having to leave after 50-60 min, of course without saying why, just "thank you, Ms. ___, that's be all for you. Now, getting back to what we were discussing....." What a walk of shame to the door... Imagine clumsily tripping on your way out... Now, if it would in game show format as you suggest, that could be fun. At least you'd know why and when you're out.

That is the most horrifying/amusing thought about this entire process ever. I can only imagine myself as a sort of Chevy Chase character.

Finally signed, sealed and delivered on the travel plans. Unfortunately, I was not authorized to spend the night so I had to pick that up on my own dime (otherwise I was looking at leaving my house at 3:30 am on the day of my interview)...at this point I am just happy that everything is booked and done...

I actually had a college scholarship interview like that. Two professors, two candidates. I had to try really hard to keep from rolling my eyes at the other candidate who just kept kissing up. When the first day of school rolled around, I was there scholarship in hand, he wasn't.

I heard no reports of cannibalized candidates, nor any bloodcurdling screams, so you must have been after me. I didn't think there was a group between 10:30 and 1:30, but I may have been mistaken.
