I also got it, didn't know what thread to find this discussion in at first. I doubled my availables (i.e. +9), including closer to home. So the issue is, what does this mean? Is it just bookkeeping, or is it a sign that they know I'm not going to be in the running for the earlier cities on my GAL? Or who knows?

I think a lot of people sent in strikes for cities and that raised some folks up to where they are now within reach for that city. PLUS, they appear to have added totally new cities not on the 1st cert email.

All I know is, Orchid's going to be ticked. 'Deconflicting and crosswalking THREE lists of cert cities? What did I sign up for? How many times have I covered Fresno now?' Orchid will have to call BagLady before this runs its course.
In other news, I heard that Godzilla attacked Richmond, ate a wide swath of I-95, and stomped on the old Confederate White House. I certainly wouldn't recommend going there. That and the zombies, who (or is it that?) will find their way to an SSA office or a computer anytime now to start applying for undead disability benefits. Not for the faint of heart. And the polar vortices too. (I didn't notice Richmond on Cert 2.2 either.)
In still other news, chessparent versus zombies. Discuss.

This discussion topic reminds me of the Chicago Bears Superfans discussing how many points da Bears would win by if Mike Ditka were the only guy on the field for them.

Odd thing my new cert lost one of my original cities on my GAL. I am not sure it is an oversight and mistake or somehow my score is too low now. I have sent an email for clarification. I will let you know what SSA says.
EDIT RESPONSE FROM SSA/ODAR: I received a response by email back from Bob, evidently the addition of Baltimore on my original GAL was a mistake. He sincerely apologized for the error on their part. My score was just a little too low by several hundreds of a point (and I mean by several hundreds of a point) to qualify for Baltimore. As little as .10 of a difference may mean whether you make or don't make a city according to Bob's response. Interesting details!

I find it interesting that this is coming from SSA since the determination of whether you are on the list of eligibles for a city is made by OPM.

I agree to some extent Gary, but perhaps Bob was just knowledgeable enough to realize my name was added to SSA's cert by mistake based upon my NOR score. Either way, I am fine with it. I just needed an explanation and the one given makes perfect sense to me. I have no problem with it at all.

A possibility that occurred to me, for which I have no evidence, is that perhaps SSA certed way more cities than we have seen yet, and have just revealed to us the ones they will be hiring for first. In that case, it may be SSA made a determination of who is reachable for the group of cities of their first planned hires. In that case, it is possible that some who would be reachable if all certs were being considered are nonetheless not reachable when just those first cities are considered.

You very well could be correct Gary and I could very well be sitting on the third or fourth cert before being picked up, if at all. I will just take it one day at a time and work my way through the process.

As I recall you've got several other possibilities and IMO they would be foolish not to hire you, hopefully for a preferred location.

If he so chooses to rank his cities accordingly, methinks mpd will end up getting a spot much closer to home.

Has everyone received a supp list? Just wondering since I have not. When I got the interview call I asked if she could send the travel info with a cc to my work address. Glad I did!!! There was a typo in my home email address. So now I wonder if the supp cert email went to the wrong address as well. Maybe not though. I may not have additional cities.
