Just wanted to wish everyone who is interviewing for the second certs good luck and safe travels!
And if your interview or travel hasn't been scheduled yet, hang in there! It is just a matter of time.
Best wishes! - Miss

Best wishes! - Miss So Miss, is it much more relaxing not having to do an interview for this cert or do you wish they gave you a "do-over" so you could have a second chance at the interview process? I was just curious. I know I will feel much better once the interview is over and I can just sit back and wait as we have done for so long as candidates knowing there is nothing else that can be done.

Mpd, I am not very good at just sitting back and waiting (so I feel a little hypocritical asking other folks to be patient, but I am trying my best). I prefer the parts that I can control, like the exam and interview to the references, and I really hate waiting. The waiting after the interview is tough (don't discount it but I hope it is better for you). Including with trying to make decisions about my practice and family. So I would want a do-over. I am guessing like some folks, I know much more now and think I could do better.

Thanks for responding Miss and I understand completely. The waiting is never good, but the stress of thinking about how to approach the interview is slightly more stressful than the waiting, but not by much. I could always be in the same boat hoping for a re-do, too. Good luck and hers's hoping you complete the process with a position this time.

If not this register, I will be in a great position to compete for the next register.

I am thinking this will be my one and only Register Miss, so either I make the cut or I don't. I will live with it one way or the other. Keep up the good fight my friend and keep your head up high.

Sorry I forgot.... the dates for the interviews are what...? Nov 12th through the 21st that we know of so far. No word on additional days. They seem to be scheduling a few days to a week in advance. A "few" people reported the day they had were the only days left available, but I think this is because that is all that scheduler had left. Every post about this has resulted in a different day being reported, so I am not so sure all the dates are actually filled yet. Well, with the exception of today and tomorrow clearly. LOL!

Today was the first day of SSA interview band, so good luck to everyone! Please let us know if you get any intel that you can report, understanding that nothing substantive can be reported.

I am local, but was not called until Friday, Nov 7th for my interview. They pretty much insisted that it had to go this week (Nov 12-14). I was told that if this week couldn't be done, then it wouldn't be scheduled until Dec 1st. So I took a spot tomorrow morning and then rearranged everything else. But through this conversation, I learned that a contingency plan exists to resume interviews if necessary after the Thanksgiving holiday.

Very interesting development ironmanLady in terms of new information. Hence, the interviews will likely go into the week of December 1, 2014, as not everyone will be able to get to DC during the span of time ending on November 21, 2014. Thanks for sharing with us.

Wonder how this impacts the start of offers?

Wonder how this impacts the start of offers? Unless it's miraculously ordered to have higher scorers for each location, it will delay them.

Sadly, this is almost certain to delay the offers until mid-late December or even January - unless there is some tiered/layered way to do so and bank the late interviews until subsequent hiring rounds in 2015.
The rule is normally - they don't have to interview, but inteview one, you have to interview them all.
On an unreleated note: I still haven't received anything on the supplemental cities - at least 1 of them should be on my list and it was specifically not screened out by me last time.

I cannot imagine that would even be allowed. One is OPM based and the SSA interview is no doubt different and agency specific. Of course we cannot compare due to confidentiality. But all candidates have to be treated equally so like Ace said, all have to be interviewed. I didn't expect offers to be out before mid December regardless. There is still the possibility they will have open interview spots next week.

I don't imagine there are still many left to schedule. The last I checked the poll, only 12 of us responded that we still needed the call.
