Well, will wonders never cease, I ran into a fellow long time Board member, whom I never met and was interviewing at the same time. As an aside, there were also at least two Board lurkers also interviewing at the same time. It is nice to know the Board is so well represented at this stage. I was lucky enough to meet Propmaster. We had a long conversation and shared a cab back to Reagan National. We then ate dinner and chatted for a long time. Propmaster is a very kind and friendly person. It was so surreal to actually meet a fellow Board member and chat about a lot of things. I know how those at training must feel meeting fellow Board members. I can honestly say it made the interview process and day even better. Thanks Propmaster for your kindness and hospitality. I sincerely appreciated it. Good luck buddy and I hope to see you at training in Falls Church, if we are so lucky!

Lucky for you to meet propmaster! Not surprised to hear what he's like in person. I did not get into conversation about the board with the other three who were waiting with me, so I don't know if they were Board members or lurkers or not.
It is fun, and relatively rare, I think, to meet Board members outside of the context of training.
Good luck to you both!

Sorry I missed you Observer53, but your interview time was too early versus when I arrived for mine. I wish you well and good luck in acquiring the position, too. I look forward to seeing you in training in Falls Church, VA.

Must admit that I am not an "internet guy" but I am grateful for this forum. I'll buy the first round if I'm lucky enough to cross paths with anyone from here. Your insights are appreciated.

Coffee I will even let you off easy and have you buy me a cup of coffee as my round, if we both are so lucky as to be hired. It would be a pleasure to place so many more faces to avatar names. It is great to meet (or as chessparent might say "meat" some of her fellow Board members...LOL!) some of my friends and/or idols from the Board.

Well, I'm here at the homewood suites prepping for my interview tomorrow morning. I'm hopeful I'll run into some board members tomorrow (or tonight at dinner--we need a secret sign). :-)

Good luck to all of you. At training, you should wear a discreet button with your avatar picture pasted to it. So if I see , say, a bulldog, I will give you a Milk Bone and wink knowingly, and introduce myself. I like Purina hamster kibble myself, but I drink beer, too. See you at supplemental training!

Meeting Board Members is alot easier with pms. Back in 2008 I met a Board Member and he/she counseled me and allowed me to significantly raise my score once I was able to re-test. And pardon to Mr. Frost, that made "...all the difference." It literally changed my life--in so many ways.
It would be hard to overerestimate the talent and knowledge base of those who have populated these pages. That you folks are meeting each other and feeling the Power is having a "pay forward" effect upon us all.

Imho, an admission has been made to violation of the confidentiality agreement. I dunno. Not mad at anyone, but thoughts on this sort of situation?

Alright. Not a big deal. Just my interpretation in re running into a board member that through private message led to a significant score increase, etc. That's all. Unconcerned here.

Slow down Cowboy, you are reading way too much into that post. PrivateAtty said no such thing, a general conversation, "counseled" is in NO WAY an admission of anything (maybe he/she told him to get a "deep tissue massage" before the test, whatever. My thoughts on this sort of situation, Chill Bill, relax Jack and don't read allegations of a "violation" where none exist.
IMHO, tiger

Anotherfed, now you made me blush! Had a great day in hearings. First one withdrew the appeal yesterday, second one went, but the last one withdrew at the hearing because of working SGA. Hilltopper was at it for 5 hours with 4 hearings and I was in and out in 1.25 hrs with 2 dispositions and a good day.
So it's miller time and relaxing.

Tiger:
Withdrawals and/or defaults (failure to appear) are always great events for a sitting ALJ. Time to work on orders and reviewing upcoming files. Best yet, you can get home early for a change.
