Had my interview this morning and met a couple of board members. Super nice people! I wish I had more time to chat with them. All the staff were great and I had a chance to say hello to Judge Bice who was walking through. Everyone said they are working very hard to move as quickly as they are able to be patient (as usual). We should not read into the order in which things happen for different people. Glad to be done! At the airport now. One more day of interviews until after the holidays. Good luck to everyone! Here I dropped that I had spoken with Judge Bice yesterday and now you expose me as the fraud I am because she greets even such a lowly candidate as me when she walks through at the interview site.

Well I sure thank you for the vote of confidence but from the folks I met at the interview today, they were all high contenders! Nothing is in the bag. At this point it is all beyond our control.

I referred only to myself as lowly and meant the situation you described is one in which Judge Bice graciously greets all candidates present. You are an outstanding candidate as are most of the people I've gotten to know on this Board. I expect to be congratulating many of you in the next several weeks.

I agree with you 100% sratty from the security guards to the Chief ALJ herself everyone in Falls Church was more than friendly in their dealings with all the candidates.

As an aside, several of my references were telephoned today. So, things are indeed moving along in the process.

Oh so ironic -- they're calling my references today. I feel a little embarrassed about my melt-down at 5 AM. Thanks again to all. So far they've called all three "judge" references (for me they are ALJs) and two others that I know about. Sratty, I'm glad you felt good about your interview. I also felt that it was a good discussion about topics that I find very interesting and I wished we could have had it over lunch. The entire interview experience, starting with Officer McGary at security, was comfortable and respectful. I was too nervous to remember who I met before it started but everyone was so nice to me. I was also too nervous to eat the snacks. I think I would have remembered if I had met Judge Bice, though. The two Chief Judges who interviewed me were great.

I think a lot of my favorites are in this go-around and I wish you the very best. It's been a long time coming for some and extremely stressful for all.

Maybe they're calling them among the last because you've been identified as a top candidate and they want what your references say to be as current as possible.

Thanks Bart and Funky, oh! that was presumptuous of me to think you meant me by your comments. I do agree with both of you as a lot of my favorites are on this cert too.

I'm already anxious every time I hear my cellphone ring;)

By the way, evidently the contractor for SSA has had to pull people off other jobs to finish the ALJ references by tomorrow. This is based upon what was stated to one of my references who wondered why it took so long to get the call to act as a reference. (Posted in other thread on Reference Line Checks, too)

To the PTB: That was just a joke, as I know you are a most democratic group.
