Miss I wish you well, but as you know, as soon as you acquire your OMHA (Office of Medicare Hearing and Appeals) offer you will acquire one from SSA/ODAR. So, good luck to you Miss. ***EDIT*** By the way, saaao it is OMHA, not OHMA. Thanks.

Thanks, mpd, but I think we all know that sometimes things happen in the process that result in no offer (no NOR, no invite to the WD/SI, etc.). If it isn't this round for me, I will take what I have learned and try to do better next register (unless I win the lottery in the meantime, in which case I am dropping all of y'all like a hot potato!). As always, my best wishes for my board friends!

***EDIT*** By the way, saaao it is OMHA, not OHMA. Whoops, looks like my Dyslexia was acting up. Oh well. I actually had to pull my name from consideration with OMHA, because I would not have been able to make the logistics work out due to family issues. I was very impressed with the ALJ's who I spoke with and the Medicare set up for ALJ's actually sounds better (to me at least) than the ODAR model. Best of luck to all still being considered. If I was in a position to choose between an offer from Medicare and an offer from SSA, it would be a very tough decision to make.

Have a good friend that is a Judge in Cleveland with OMHA. He is very satisfied with it. My wife was in Cleveland for 18 months and I visited there. Actually fell in love with the place, but then the winters... Did I mention the winters?? If you can tolerate the winters, it is a most desirable place. Great food, a lot of Playhouses in the area, a lot of seasonal happenings (Great Garlic Festival, to mention one). West side of Cleveland is great. Like travelling back into 1965. Nice people, Mom and Pop restaurants, fantastic soft ice cream (custard to some), Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (where I learned more about Jim Morrison than I ever needed to), and a great Air Show right off the edge of the lake at the local airport. Geeeshhh, I wish I wasn't allergic to the cold.. Good luck to all!!
