Thanks Anotherfed! And thanks for picking me up for dinner - it was great to meet you..... Although I was really hoping for purple hair ;-). But the rose colored glasses were perfect!

Anotherfed: I know you did great, along with our other interviewees like YB and OK. However, they wouldn't have "round filed" your CV. It contains PII. They would have SHREDDED it! Get with the program.... Good luck to all! Best, Hamster You're right, how could I make that mistake? But shredder or burn bag? I must have squeaked by the SI, but I felt better after the ODAR Interview. I did, however, learn the lesson from both experiences: DO NOT DEVIATE. OK1956 will do great -- she will knock their socks off. I don't know YB as well, but anyone who knows her Emily Post will make a great impression in any encounter. Haven't you heard? We're living in a post-Post world.

Gee-whiz anotherfed is the regular "welcome wagon" person for everyone in D.C. or Falls Church. How is it that I wasn't invited to meet you, anotherfed? Now, I feel slighted. (Giggling) However, the fact you lack the purple hair, as OK1956 states, might have thrown me off. However, I do think it is very nice of you to meet many of those who come to the area. I wouldn't have had time to meet with you as I flew in and out on the same day without issue.

Ok1956, I was kinda bummed that she didn't have purple hair, too. But the feather boa made up for it.

You guys missed the purple hair?

You guys missed the purple hair? The rotating color wheel lamp she carries constantly changes her hair color so it's only purple 1/4 of the time.

BTW, it doesn't get mentioned often enough that anotherfed herself is a very impressive candidate who will make a splendid ALJ.

Agreed - Anotherfed will make a fabulous ALJ! I am done.... Nothing more I can do - it is now completely and utterly outside my control. :-)

Sadly, there are a lot of people on this Board who I've missed -- but we WILL meet in the future.

My favorite quote is from Anne McCaffrey (for the sci-fi fantasy geeks out there): "I have green eyes and freckles. The rest is subject to change without notice."
And thank you for the compliments <blushing>.

No wardrobe malfunctions today and I did not toss my cookies. There were 3 others interviewing during my time slot. As with previous reports, everyone I encountered was courteous and professional. Now, I am trying to "Let it Go" and not kick myself for one of my answers. Is there any protocol for sending thank you notes/emails to the interviewers after the SSA interview? Same number for the interview this morning.

And for those of you waiting on offers, waiting on interviews, waiting on other news, just remember this: if you eat a live frog first thing every morning, nothing worse will happen the rest of the day! (Mark Twain)

Now, I am trying to "Let it Go" and not kick myself for one of my answers. Is there any protocol for sending thank you notes/emails to the interviewers after the SSA interview? I spent six long weeks parsing every second of my Falls Church interview. I was in that room for nearly 90 minutes, and I had cause on multiple occasions to second-guess literally every single thing I said or did; from too-casual body language, to a couple of instances of dropping into "comedy voice", or divulging what in retrospect seemed like a little too much information about past experiences. By the first week of January, I was convinced that I had behaved inappropriately throughout the entire affair, and was consigned to the "Not Recommended" bin of ODAR history. And then, of course, my phone rang with The Offer. It sounds very cliched, as someone who was lucky enough to win this particular lottery, but... don't second-guess your answers. We all have litigation experience, we all know how to behave before panels; your brain knows what to say, and probably said it for you during the interview while your imagination thought you were saying something else. ODAR can't hire everyone who applies. Some folks (and I'm sure I fall into this category) get in, and others who probably interviewed better than me, by posture and tone, haven't (yet). Just enjoy the ride and trust that you did the best you possibly could. Once the interview is over, everything is literally out of your hands. Relax, and trust in your skills!

The next time I trust my skills will be the first time. But hey, there's a first time for everything!

Maybe I won't be rushed my next time in the D.C. area, but I will be there for a few weeks.

Had my interview this morning. I echo the relief of those who have said there is nothing more to be done! Met Hondo as well, putting a face with a screen name for the first time! Hope to meet many of you in the near future. Best of luck to all.

At the Hampton Inn the rooms have little motif photos near the door. My room had a photo of a Stetson Western hat, which immediately made me think it had the Tigerlaw seal of approval! I took it as a good omen!
