Any guesses as to when (and if) SSA will conduct more interviews?

Any guesses as to when (and if) SSA will conduct more interviews? "If" is easy. Yes. They are planning on doing a lot of hiring this year, and they will have to interview anyone who lands on a cert that has not been on one before from this register. Exactly "when" is a little less clear, but probably pretty soon, if they are planning a late May/early June class, and they determine that they need some new certs for some different cities.

If you dont like your position on the current list, wait for the next testing cycle. There are soooo many Judges retiring right now. The boomers are breaking the sound barrier rushing out the door. Your time will come. Be patient.

Thanks 71stretch. I have a limited GAL (three cities), none of which have been on any of the lists out so far.

What follows is rank speculation on my part. We know that May 18th is the next start date (Thank you cinderblock!). They seem to want to give about 4 weeks notice as the minimum. If they hold to that the last offer would be made April 17. There are not enough open cities/slots left from the November and then January city lists to fill a whole class. I am not sure I believe there are more than 10 openings from those cities left. Therefore, we may get a pretty large group of cities on a new set of certs. Given that they are asking for about 10 days turn around on the paperwork (my recollection I didn't double check)but they are scheduling interviews while the paperwork is out they could begin interviews almost immediately after the paperwork is due back in FC. I hypothesize the new paperwork goes out March 6, interviews begin March 16, offers begin April 6 and run through April 17. Feel free to provide your own SWAG.

Gaidin, I received my Notification 11-3-2014 and the paperwork was due back by the close of business on 11-10-2014, so I had 7 days. Otherwise, I like your SWAG and just now can't improve on it.

There are many of us who haven't interviewed yet because our few cities have yet to be pulled. If your 3 cities have experienced any transfer or retiree activity (only through researching the board or knowing someone in those offices) then you might get a call! Or maybe they found a broom closet that can be turned into an office or will find another space you can occupy. Good luck.
BTW, My complete and total speculation is that we will begin to hear about emails for a new round of interviews going out around the 2nd week of March, interviews around last week of March/early April, offers end of April. I have been completely wrong before, but I am trying to learn with each round of hires....

I've been lurking for a while, but I'm going to leave the SWAGs to the more experienced posters. However, I like your logic Gaidin!

Geez gary - that was a reminder of just how long this has been going on! At this rate, I will be "closely approaching retirement age" if I ever make it to the next step!

Try to ask for July training. My training was in July-everyone brought their kids and spouses and they had a blast in DC!

We are getting close to a tight timeline for the May 18 start date. In the past, from the cert emails, 2 weeks passed for the interview emails, then 2 weeks until offers, with 4 weeks notice to start. We are right in that timeframe where all of this is still possible but something may be cut short, like time to schedule interviews for those who have not had one yet and maybe the 4 weeks notice to start. We should start getting new cert emails any day if the timing is about the same as the last time.

You are exactly on target sratty, that's why all of us are holding our breath, waiting, and not saying anything on the board.
Breathe people!! The notices will come! Soon!

I was noticing the timeline as well, I am wondering whether they not expecting to conduct many new interviews. My guess is they will go back to hiring in the midwestern and Southeastern regions. That is where the greatest need probably is and many of those candidates will already have been interviewed.

Having fewer interviews would cut down on the timeline at least in terms of the actual days needed to do them. Makes sense.
