Time to acknowledge 3rd strikes? I did not get this cert, but I did get all the others. (Almost an 80, and an outsider.) However, I accepted a position with another agency about a month ago. So here's the question: did my agency notify OPM of my gig and I was taken off the list, or am I a 3-strike casualty? I ask this question not so much for me but for anyone else who may have been doing this for the last year and now suddenly realizes that they did not get this last email. Aren't we getting a little greedy?

It could be you received 3 considerations by SSA and they requested that OPM not include you on these certs, but I doubt it. More likely is that the agency that hired you notified OPM which pulled you off the Register. When an agency finishes hiring from a cert it returns a report on what it did to OPM. If this happened OPM would take you off the Register. I'm not sure if while a cert is still open they do any sort of interim notification to OPM when someone is hired.

I think it is because you have accepted and offer from another agency. I know I have had at least three considerations, and I got a list of cities earlier today. I don't think they apply the "do not refer" three strike rule on an individual basis. When they don't want to three struck anymore I think it is a blanket request. I would imagine there would be potential EOC issues otherwise.

Got my cert email a couple of hours ago. 56 cities, which is incredible as I only made 6 cities on the last cert.

Aren't we getting a little greedy? You misunderstood my intent, but I can see how my post may have suggested that. For more than a year, I've heard of the "3 Strike". I thought there might be someone else out there who has been on the list since the beginning, and did not get the email, and would not feel comfortable just asking the question. Since I am not in this race anymore, I thought I could address the concern that might be haunting someone else. This forum has been amazingly supportive, and I thank all of you who have shared your insights, ideas, theories, speculations, etc. Best wishes to all!

I took it as simply a fun, light-hearted, statement.

I'm a long time lurker and first time poster. I first want to thank all the posters for all the helpful information on this board.
I have a question regarding the reference checks. I was on the first cert in May/June 2014, and the 2nd cert in Nov. 2014. I submitted all my forms in May/June 2014 and my references were checked then. Based on this new email from Bob, all the first certers have to resubmit the forms, including the personal history form. Does that mean that all my references will be called a second time?
