I'm a long time lurker and first time poster. I first want to thank all the posters for all the helpful information on this board. I have a question regarding the reference checks. I was on the first cert in May/June 2014, and the 2nd cert in Nov. 2014. I submitted all my forms in May/June 2014 and my references were checked then. Based on this new email from Bob, all the first certers have to resubmit the forms, including the personal history form. Does that mean that all my references will be called a second time? Good question and since this is the first time this has happened on the new register, I am not sure anyone knows! Play is safe and have them all prepped and ready just in case.
EDIT: AND... Welcome to the board!

FWIW, I got a ticket - to The 'Noak! A beautiful drive - or beautiful flight - down the Shenandoah Valley from the house! Here's hoping, although never counting...
(PS An old friend of mine - and the son of the former Governor - always calls it The 'Noak. No disrespect intended, but feel free to PM me if disrespect is perceived.)
PPS Yes, G&G, I voted.

Coffee, is the position that you accepted about a month ago an ALJ position? Thanks in advance for any response.

Just a guess, but I'm in that boat too. 71stretch, did you know anyone who had changes to submit on the second round of paperwork with the prior register? thanks! This is a good problem to have.

If it helps, the emails received by the second certers say that we do not need to resubmit if we submitted on or after November 1, which leads me to believe they want the first certers to resubmit.

Yes got an email this afternoon w 56 cities, I have spent the evening trying to rank them and feeling like my preference probably doesn't matter, but you don't get anything in this world if you don't ask for it!

Got home from work and got my paperwork right in (about 6 hours ago)! So, Bob, I'm ready to go tomorrow. I'll have my phone with me all day.

It seems to me with the last register that if you had changes to make in your references, etc., there were people who submitted a new profile even though they didn't have to. I think I might have done it myself, although my memory is fuzzy on whether it was in a "you don't have to" scenario. They aren't telling you you can't change it.

Yesterday, I too received my email. Now, I must simmer down, sharpen up, and start ranking. Thanks to all for sharing and especially to Gaidin for his poll creations.

I know the time in which to complete and submit one's GAL list is extremely limited, however if so inclined, and if it matters, one can take a quick look at facts about the city at quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/00000.html

Aren't we getting a little greedy? You misunderstood my intent, but I can see how my post may have suggested that. For more than a year, I've heard of the "3 Strike". I thought there might be someone else out there who has been on the list since the beginning, and did not get the email, and would not feel comfortable just asking the question. Since I am not in this race anymore, I thought I could address the concern that might be haunting someone else. This forum has been amazingly supportive, and I thank all of you who have shared your insights, ideas, theories, speculations, etc. Best wishes to all! I was just sassing you, friend. Thus, the emoticon winkie.

Congrats everyone, but I feel like this is groundhog day. The same exact email as the Nov. cert, same two cities. I do not have to resubmit all docs, only the fcr, of306 and GAL. I interviewed and references were checked on last one and no luck. What I am confused about is the probability the same as Nov. or are my chances better on this one?? Thanks for thoughts.

I don't think there's any way to say for sure. In the last round of hiring, did they hire for your two cities? If so, then you have moved up the line a little. If not, then at least it's likely that you have not had any "strikes". (All this somewhat depends on your score, too, as to where you might be on the list) This whole process is fraught with mystery. We are just all along for the ride. Good luck!

For some of us this is the third time we have been on the cert. for the same city in which ODAR has not hired or transferred anyone into. I can empathize with your plight. It is like the old lottery commercial "You can't win if you don't play." You are in the game, which is better than the other 4,000 plus people who did not receive an NOR or have not been on a cert. yet. There is no way of knowing if your chances are better or worse. All you know is that you have a chance. Marathon, not a sprint.

You're still in the game and that is pretty amazing when you think about all the qualified people who didn't even get to ride the bus to the ball park. 71stretch is also correct your still on the team and most likely have moved a few spots up in the depth chart. Ok enough hokey sports analogies the important thing to remember is that even if Bob doesn't call this time your cites are showing up on certs. Several folks haven't seen their cities show up at all. This is a great time to be on this register. They are trying to hire another 150 ALJs this year and more next year.
