What are the chances offers will start today? My WAG is the next class is small at around 20 total. So with four to five already slated to start in May, they will only have to hire 15 to 16. They should be able to get that done next week and provide everyone with at least two weeks notice.

No one knows longshot. That is the big mystery right now. There are 3-4 people starting May 18th and they were told the training started June 8. Those may just start on time and then attend a later training. There have been instances (very rare though) in the past of as little as 2 weeks notice but that is by far not the norm. It would not surprise me to see offers today or Monday, and it would not surprise me to see no June 8th training at all and only having training the 3 dates the rest of the fiscal. Those 3 training dates the rest of the fiscal gets them the 150 and they meet the goal. IF they can fill those classes. So far, every class has been slightly less than planned.

I would think the start date is more flexible than the training date, which involves more logistical planning to reserve trainers/facilities/lodging. So, my SWAG is that people could be offered a May 26th start date with plenty of notice, and still get sent to train on June 8th.

The problem with this is that they need that 3 weeks in the office to do things that cannot be done in training like getting paperwork, IDs, computer profiles, and much much more. They did all of that in 2 weeks in past classes before this new register and changed it to 3 to work out all the things they needed to do prior to training.

I highly doubt they revert to less than three weeks in the office prior to FC training. They have put much emphasis on the computer/systems/eBB training done at your home office in those three weeks. The formal classroom training in FC is now done in a manner that assumes everyone starts with at least the base knowledge provided in those three weeks. So, to shorthen or do away with that would mean they have to redo the highly detailed and planned training in FC to cover what is missed....I don't see that happening.
It may well be that they can't get around some new wide GAL vet pref candidate to hire from the pool of already interviewed folks so that they can have at least a small May class. If that's the case, then the only real option is to drop the June 8 class in it's entirety. Those already hired and told to report in may would just have longer in their offices before training in July. I can't imagine them doing anything else to keep the May/June dates.
That said, I still think they will find a way to get at least a small group hired for May/June. But, with time slip slip slipping away that becomes less and less likely. If offers don't start rolling today or early next week, it would seem apparent that folks need to settle in for offers being delayed until after this May 11th week interviews.
Just my thoughts.

I suspect this week was a selection board with offers starting Monday or Tuesday. Why or how I suspect that I cannot say.
