Interesting. A high scorer with a wide open GAL off the board first. That's actually good news for those with more limited GAL's. Here's hoping!

Interesting. A high scorer with a wide open GAL off the board first. That's actually good news for those with more limited GAL's. Here's hoping! I wanted to expand on this thought a bit. Sir's hire enlightens us on a few things. Sir had a wide open GAL and was hired for his 52nd ranked city out of 62. First, this confirms that our rankings come a distant second to ODAR's needs. There will be at least a dozen higher ranked cities on Sir's list that will be filled this hire. That apparently did not factor highly into the hiring decision. Second, selecting a candidate with a wide open GAL as the first or second hire confirms that ODAR has a plan and is not pulling names and locations randomly. Doing it ths way probably will open up more offices as the process unfolds. Hopefully, things will move along quickly next week.

So is it possible the wide opens might have the additional advantage that the Agency might want to get them out to reduce the complexity of the permutations as quickly as possible ?

For those of you that have already been interviewed, did the interviewers ask about any information received during the background/employment investigation? The details of the interview are super secret and we are not allowed to discuss them. Even simple questions. EDIT NOTE BY PIXIE:
Yes, all interview questions are off limits. Thanks for pointing this out to him, SRRatty. Problem solved without my intervention. Pixie.

That's an oops on my part; I hadn't even considered it a nondisclosure issue. Please, no one answer that question--I don't want anyone to get into trouble.

I guess I should have simply asked if we ever get a chance to explain a bad report from a former supervisor. I ran for an elected office against my former boss (he had been in office for 24 years) and I beat him; he's been very bitter ever since. So I figure he won't have anything good to say about me.
EDIT NOTE BY PIXIE: Yes, this is the proper way to ask your question. Pixie.

I would think that, as with any interview, you could volunteer the information at an appropriate time, e.g., do you have any questions or anything you'd like to add?

Of course I would add, your interviewers are not likely the ones reviwing your references' responses dpageks. I would think the hiring committee is doing that for SSA.
