Gaidin I am not keeping my phone handy today as I know there will be no calls because Gary said "today". However, I will have it on hand tomorrow for obvious reasons.

Still plenty of room for future judges in Falls Church this July. Come on down! I will save you each a seat. I especially want to sit next to Gaidin so he can answer all of my software questions.
Keep those phones handy.

Any reason to believe the OPM decision to reopen the process as discussed in another thread will halt hiring?

Any reason to believe the OPM decision to reopen the process as discussed in another thread will halt hiring? Zero chance of that. The process is not starting over. The process in the other thread is allowing more to go forward from the point they were cut because there are not enough names on the register to fill the pending hiring needs.

Any reason to believe the OPM decision to reopen the process as discussed in another thread will halt hiring? No, bruce there is no indication at all that anything OPM is doing to expand the Register will effect SSA hiring needs and goals at this moment. Therefore, offers will continue to go out from SSA to candidates on the present Register. The only issue being that SSA may have stated to OPM it would like to gain more candidates to choose from in the future because of its extensive hiring needs next year and OPM is therefore trying to accommodate SSA's needs for more candidates on the Register. In addition, it looks like OMHA may need about 100 new ALJs next fiscal year as well.

Slow down there fella. Don't start worrying about that. They just finished interviews the week before last. They extended an offer to somebody for June 29th in the last 2 weeks as well.
They will start making offers soon. My guess is tomorrow but if not then soon thereafter. Deep breaths folks don't let one or two unrelated events cause doubt.

I have heard from a reliable poster that the offers will not start until next week so I feel pretty confident we can stand down for today.

I have heard from a reliable poster that the offers will not start until next week so I feel pretty confident we can stand down for today. Second the motion and confirmed from another source as well. So we have 2 sources (not the same one before anyone asks) that indicate the weekend is a worry free zone. Till Monday!

But why should I believe two, consistent, reliable sources when I can just make something up?

Saw and danced to the music of St. Paul & The Broken Bones in Coachella, they were unbelievably fantastic! If we make it to Falls Church, we need to make it a point to party to the sounds of St. Paul.
