What does it mean if no FOAD letter is received? well, as with everything, it's just a guess, but it likely means you have cities on certs they haven't yet closed. I haven't received a letter yet either, but I had all 62 city-certs. so I think they closed out some, but not all, of the certs. I agree that a FOAD probably means no more hires for the cities on your GAL. But they have to keep some certs open to hire for the August class.

An interesting exercise here would be for the folks who have not received the FOAD to let us know what cities are on their GAL. If you want to share it privately feel free to PM me and I will keep your name out of it. I am just curious whats left.

Got mine, too. I have a tiny GAL, sent 4:22 PDT with love from Bobellinda.
Thank goodnes for this Board!! If I didn't have all the info everyone has shared over the years (has it really been years???), I would have assumed FOAD meant FOAD, not Good Luck in the Next Round.
Sratty's mantra still applies - it's still a very good time to be on the register!

I didn't get the "with love" part. I figured after all these years of devotion, the love was implied.... Ok, it's been a little one-sided, but hey - I think we can still make this relationship work - Really! Bobellinda, we can still be friends, right? Call me!

My husband will be pretty excited to see the board adopted his acronym for the rejection letters. What's he gonna say when he sees you in a black robe? It better be y'hanah!

I prefer to call it a TBNT (Thanks, But No Thanks) Letter. That said I am at this point somewhat distressed. I have a small GAL. I had 3 cities upon which I was on a cert this go around and got my TBNT letter this morning. Two were new cities and the other had been on twice before with prior hires. One of the new cities had a single hire (knowledge limited to the Board only of course) with a small point advantage over me. No hires for the other two. That I was passed up on two cities where it appears there were no hires (one of which was new to the list) does give me some cause for concern that perhaps my interview did not go well and it doesn't mater what my point total is or how many certs I get on, I'm simply not going to be hired. I'm Ok with that...really. I am also not in any way being critical of any of the persons working through the process on the hiring side as I am sure they are doing the best they can with what they have to work with, but it would be nice to know if my interview was so poor that I am simply out of contention or not, but the process doesn't seem allow for that. While I remain hopeful, I would hate for that to be a false hope.

A city going unfilled is rarely due to candidate quality.

Small GAL, a few cities on the list that apparently were not hired for, and no idea what the hold up might be. While it is difficult to not know what, if any, problem there may have been with the interview, there are a number of us who are in the same boat. I agree it would be nice to know whether we are out of contention. BTW, I like your acronym TBNT.

Nobody likes me, everybody hates me, I'm gunna go eat worms, fat ones, skinny ones, juicy ones too ...
I got the letter. At least I didn't get it until I got home. Monday at work was bad enough. One of my coworkers got their "you did not win your appeal" letter. We are going to commiserate together tomorrow.
Deep breaths. Tomorrow is a new day . :-)

I have a three-city GAL: Seattle, Tacoma and Auburn. I don't believe they appeared on a cert. I haven't received a FOAD (or TBNT) letter, is that only for those who picked a city that appeared on a cert? I was a victim earlier this year of clearwire dropping email service and had to change my email address and thought I'd updated it for this process but now I'm wondering if I succeeded or not.

You would only be receiving an FOAD email if you were on one or more certs and SSA closed the certs you were on without hiring you. It sounds to me like you will not be receiving an FOAD email this time around.
