Second Foad letter this year. That means two strikes. Why do I get the feeling Bob is rearing back to fire the high heat past me for strike three? Oh well, been in the batters box for awhile so might as well stay in here and try to fight off the third strike. No cities above are for me, so bring on the new list!!! Second FOAD email does not necessarily mean you have received two considerations.

Second FOAD email does not necessarily mean you have received two considerations. Heck, unless you have a relatively high score, it might not even confirm you've had 1 - just that you were on a list during the process. That's all it means. And they have to send one to everyone to move on to the next round. When you stop getting certificate emails when everyone else gets them - and you have cities in your GAL that are hiring - THAT'S when you worry.

Does anyone have an idea on when the next cert emails should be coming? To infringe on Gary's copyright, today! I'm thinking Friday 7/17 or possibly Monday 7/20 for cert emails.

The way I see it is: 7/14-16 Offers for August 10 7/17 Cert emails 7/24 All paperwork returned (there may be an intermediate date for return of the city ranking document a couple of days earlier than this) 7/27-31 Interviews 8/3-7 Hiring Committee deliberations 8/11-14 Offers for September (because of the large class they could start offers a day earlier on 8/10) 9/8 September class starts

I like it, but I don't necessarily agree with it. I think interviews will be minimal once again, despite a supposedly large hire. Only time will tell.

BTW I know the last AALJ newsletter reported a planned Sept. 8 starting date with training for those new ALJs to begin Sept. 28, but I will believe it when I see it. The next time OCALJ - and OPM - are able to act with the speed that would be required to keep to this sort of timeline will be the first. I also note that the last OCALJ newsletter listed all upcoming trainings through the end of September and there was no new ALJ training listed as beginning on Sept. 28. Could have been just an unintentional oversight, but who knows? Anyway, my personal WAG is that 2-3 weeks will end up being added to most of these dates and the Sept. ALJ class will start on Sept. 21 with training occurring in October. ETA: We should find out one way or the other soon, as typically at least one person who is offered Aug. 10 is likely to ask for a deferral to the next start date. Hopefully he/she will tell us how that conversation goes.

Will the August 10 hires only include those candidates that did NOT get a FOAD letter?

They need to get the August hires done before moving on to September. It really depends on how many interviews they have to do.

However I think SSA may have gone too far down the road of a 9/8 start to be able to switch the dates for training very easily. So for the time being at least I'm sticking with my predicted schedule.

I am a 10 point Vet who re-tested in May. Just got my NOR and I passed! Name goes on the register. NOR dated 16 July 2015. Score of 71. Any info on what to expect next is greatly appreciated. I listed over 30 cities on my GAL. Thanks.
