how about this question then. If I interviewed on the 28th for a city on the cert. when should I hear something? Well, there are many answers. You may never hear a thing. You may be lucky and hear something about 3 weeks before the next class starts at the end of September. You may hear something next fiscal year.
All of us (except for some vets who entered the process mid stream) started March 2013. Some had interviews and were hired in August 2014, etc. So answering the question is difficult since there are still some who interviewed in 2014 who have not heard a thing except to have the multiple cert emails since that time. You will not hear anything about "not" being selected. You will get the "FOAD" letter as discussed in other threads once a cert is closed out and you were not selected in that group, but that is not a definitive answer either. I was on a cert prior to the one from which I was hired, and got a letter saying thanks but you were not hired (the FOAD letter as they say)... then I was hired off the 2nd cert that I was on. There had been certs prior to that and I was not on any of those. It can keep going like that for many months/years.
So if you do not get hired in the next round, don't give up hope... there are many many more rounds to come (if the budget is approved etc. for the next fiscal). The "plan" is to hire another 250 next fiscal but this is all up to Congress and the usual process. But that is the plan. Good luck!

Thanks Judge. So I will not be holding my breath Yeah whatever you do don't hold your breath. We are days if not a more than a week away from anyone getting the call and there is no guarantee that yours is the first number called.

how about this question then. If I interviewed on the 28th for a city on the cert. when should I hear something? I interviewed on November 13, 2014 and got an offer on January 8, 2015--some have heard quicker and others much later--yes, you are right not to hold your breath
