From the OPM website:
Inclement Weather — Applicants should check the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) website prior to reporting to their scheduled Written Demonstration/Logic Based Measurement Test (WD/LBMT) and Structured Interview sessions regarding any closures or delayed openings by OPM. Should inclement weather cause a closing of Federal agencies in the Washington, DC area on the date of your scheduled test session(s), your WD/LBMT and/or SI will be cancelled and subsequently rescheduled. Once the new test schedules have been finalized, you will be sent new Admission Notices via email for the appropriate assessment component.
* * *
Proctored and In-Person Component Notifications Sent — Applicants who received a rating of IMSJ and whose scores on the Online Component have been determined to be within the range to move forward to the Proctored and In-Person Components (i.e., Written Demonstration (WD) and Logic-Based Measurement Test (LBMT), and the Structured Interview (SI)), have been notified of their new status as of 8/14/15. Self-Scheduling Notifications Sent — Applicants who were notified on 8/14/15 that they were moving forward to the Proctored and In-Person Components (i.e., Written Demonstration (WD) and Logic-Based Measurement Test (LBMT), and the Structured Interview (SI)), of the ALJ examination were sent further details on 8/28/15 regarding the self-scheduling process. The self-scheduling window is open from 8/31/15 (12:01 am EDT) through 9/11/15 (11:59 pm EDT). After the 2-week scheduling window has closed on 9/11/15, applicants are not allowed to use the on-line link to reschedule their previous appointed session. Attempts to do so are deemed invalid and new sessions will not be honored. After 9/11/15, applicants may be rescheduled only once during the next quarterly examination administration anticipated to take place in Spring 2016. Such reschedule requests must be submitted in writing to aljapplication@opm.gov.

oh well. i guess i'd better find another song to sing.... Perhaps "Tupelo Honey"? I always find Van Morrison to be good for the soul...
Maybe the theme song from "WKRP in Cincinnati"?
I don't think there are any songs about Mount Pleasant. Perhaps we could learn the Mount Pleasant High School Oilers' Fight Song?

WKRP? Loved that theme song, but it had vanished from my short term memory retention ability! That is almost as dated as Gary's nattering nabobs...." reference! But I'd definitely go with Van the Man! I'd' go with Moondance!

I did take the tests and sat for the interview in mid-July.
Received notice that I have passed to the next stage on August 25th. I struck out with SSA when I went through this ordeal several years ago.

You did the WD/LBMT and the SI interview in mid July, and now you've received notice you "passed to the next stage"? There is no further testing after the SI, the next stage would be getting your NOR.

Thanks to all who have provided info and support for years. I am among those invited back in to test this fall. The written demonstration is scheduled from 8am to 1pm. Does anyone know if there will be a formal break during that period? What should we expect in terms of access to a restroom, perhaps water (our own bottles or vending there), etc. during the 5-hour test? I looked around for an answer before asking in this thread, but I wasn't able to find one. You will have access to the restroom and vending machines. You can bring in water and snacks. There is no formal break. You can leave the testing room for a break if you want, but the clock does not stop running. And you have to take the time formally to sign out and then back in again.

They will encourage you to use the restroom before it all begins. I didn't have to leave the room, but I think they only allow one person to leave the room at a time. So if you see someone go keep working until they get back. Also, I think some people were surprised that they couldn't leave the building that day. The lunch break wasn't long enough to leave, eat, and get back through the security. So plan on eating in the OPM cafeteria. I found the food to be good, and I had a great conversation with a large group of fellow applicants. But some people brought their own lunch and ate with others, others ate by themselves. It's a large cafeteria so you can meet others or seek solitude. The only thing I regret not bringing was my flask of situational bourbon.

Shout out to my fellow candidates who are part of a "larger group of the preliminarily qualified candidates" and headed to DC for testing October thru December 2015. What a nice way to say B Team. Works for me! I'm testing this week. I reviewed the original ALJ posting, and I didn't see it say relocation expenses were paid. I can't imagine an ALJ gig wouldn't pay relocation, but you never know. These days, most GS-14 and GS-15 attorney positions don't pay relocation. Can someone confirm? Good luck to all.

Only ODAR pays. Do not worry about relocation; keep swimming and crush it.

we are own for the imminent testing. if you currently work for federal govt and get selected to be an ALJ down the road, i have heard of people in that boat getting relocation expenses covered although that was awhile back when that happened

I think "Singing in the Rain" might work for some of us this week and perhaps next week.

I'm testing the week of Oct 26, and hoping to fly back to the West Coast the evening of my SI day. From the instructions it appears that you find out when your SI is at the end of your LBMT/WD day. Do you have any control over the time of your SI? And even if you don't, there are enough slots that it's a fair gamble that you will get an earlier time, vs., like, 4pm, that would preclude a 5:30pm flight. Right?

I would not count on being able to get an early flight. I too flew from the West Coast and took an evening flight out on the SI day, but then I knew ahead of time when my SI was going to be (later afternoon). Given that you won't know your time until day of WD/LBMT, I would say you just have to schedule a flight for the evening if you want to get out same day.

don't assume you could get out on 5:30 flight.. too risky. 8:30 maybe and don;t know on your question on changing interview time. i'd be open to switching times with someone if opm would even allow for that if someone had a flight logistics issue. but opm being open to it is what matters.
my best WAG is if you had a 3pm interview, you'd have a reasonable shot of making a 7PM flight. traffic in DC is horrendous during rush hour. i would not try a shorter time interval than this.
what you may want to look at if you can't get an 8:30 or 9pm type flight is staying one more night near the airport at a less expensive but still decent hotel. i think Reagan and im almost certain Dulles has hotel options that fit that bill.
