I tested in late October. Has anyone received the NOR yet from that time frame? I tested in the first week (10/07/15). What everyone has been saying about the timeframe for receiving the NOR seems to ring true. Although the August/September group received NORs in late October/early November, our group is much larger. Hopefully OPM has been grading on-going. Who knows?

Gary, I have a concern: 1. I am about to transfer offices. That could mean loss of the email address used for my OPM notifications. Is it possible to change the email used by OPM? I have emailed OPM and have not received an answer. This was 2-3 months ago. 2. Let's say I can keep my current email long enough to receive my NOR and it is one that will place me on the register. The forms that are to be completed requests phone numbers and email addresses. Are the ones placed on that candidate information sheet the ones to be used from that point on in the process? If you can shed some insight I would appreciate it. Thanks, RN Just an FYI about email addresses. Starting 12/14 SSA will be blocking access to all personal email addresses including gmail, yahoo, etc., as a security measure. So you may want to be sure to forward your personal address to your smart phone, (if you have not already done so), or be sure to check when you are not on a government computer.

What do you mean by "blocking access"? Will SSA personnel still be able to communicate with me via my gmail.com address?

I believe yodapug's warning was for insiders who would be checking for OPM or SSA emails regarding their ALJ applications at work on a government computer.

Just to clarify, this is for SSA employees and prevents them from accessing these sites from the WORK computer. It has no bearing on the use of these email services. It does not apply to anyone not employed by SSA.

But be aware that gmail routinely ends up in SSA email spam folder.

My agency (not SSA) has for a long time and I am aware of others that have, also.

I have always wondered why anyone would use their work computer to do anything personal. Every single thing can be traced and there is no privacy on the agency computers. Why risk it? Most folks have a phone they can use for internet and email now. This policy simply settles it for good.

Every Agency is different. SSA/ODAR is just the 300 lb. gorilla--and while I realize its the reality for most, their work environment, from what I have seen, is not the norm.

Gary said in-part "If you're asking about SSA, once you make a cert, you will get forms from them to fill out including your contact info. However, they will contact you by email with those forms, and they will use an email address provided by OPM."
So Gary, if I can hold on to my current email address, the one used by OPM, long enough to receive the NOR that, hopefully, will include the documents then whatever I provide as my contact information (new email address) becomes the contact information to be used from that point forward? Please say yes!

I'm afraid not quite. You need to hold onto it until you make a cert with SSA. Then you'll get the forms I mentioned. You'll also get contact info for Bob and will be able to get change info to him. (This won't help with other agencies, but SSA is by far the biggest employer of ALJs so it will most likely be enough.)

I have been informed by a reliable source that OPM is in the process of scoring the WDs.
