update on my "delightful" perusing of the lsat book- REALLY glad im not taking the lsat. how long was that darn test again. 2 hours of whatever we are facing will be More than enough. i seem to remember the lsat being more than 2 hours.
on the plus side, i am jamming to some good tunes and the family is not hear to distract me or make me change the satellite radio station.
a little karoaoke before i dive back under. blech....

im guessing 8 or 9 pm to keep it safe. hoping someone else pipes in. dont rule out taking metro to Reagan. it wont be fun but if traffic is backed up, it could be quicker to take metro. and again, i hope DC locals pipe in. but i would strongly suggest you schedule WD m-w if you can. you don;'t want to try to get out of DC on a Friday afternoon/evening. I would also recommend 8 or 9pm. If you ended up with the last interview spot you could be looking at leaving DC right in the middle of rush hour. You can't predict Metro delays and traffic is always bad in DC and the surrounding suburbs.

I clicked on the link hoping to see dates - link is not open yet, so no dates. I had assumed testing would be in the next fiscal year, after October 31, but someone else suggested the opposite. It also occurs to me there may be a limited number of openings on each testing date available. They may plan up to 10 people a day or so in a smaller venue than in the past. Based on the traffic on this site, is this August 14 group a lot smaller than other groups? For example was there a lot more traffic back in 2013 for the group going to DC for testing? Not sure this group will be that large, at least by the initial poll responses, which at this point has only 11 people going forward Ok, two hours after the poll was posted we have 15 people going!

Congratulations and good luck to all! This really was a big day with some offers and this news. On the plus side, you all get at least an opportunity to self-schedule, which seems to be a first-time thing.
Some of us didn't get that chance recently and were just told to be there or be square with only one alternative date - not that I am complaining at all, mind you.
Speaking of which - good luck to all those going to DC for testing on Monday/Tuesday . . . . I'll try to guess you from your avatars to the extent possible!

Yay! Received the scheduling invitation today. From what I have read/trolled here on the Forum , it appears that we are the first self-schedule group, a special vintage perhaps? (optmistically speaking of course) Congrats and good luck to all!

I am in the group too. Pretty cool, but as Christina said, now I gotta remember what those logic questions are all about. If all A's drink gin and some ALJ's are A's then . . . Let's get this party started!

Re transit: Perhaps it is just because I have always lived in NYC, but I found that walking and the subway were a fine combination when I went for the exam and interview. I arrived at National Airport, took the metro to Foggy Bottom station and walked a bit to my hotel on E Street and 20th Street. It's a great neighborhood. Because I needed an accommodation, I took the WD on Monday morning and the logic exam on Tuesday morning. My SI was scheduled for Tuesday afternoon at 2 PM. I went back to the hotel after the logic exam, packed up, changed into my interview suit, grabbed my little roller suitcase and had a very pleasant stroll from E Street and 20th St to the Embassy Suites. It took about 20 minutes. I was there by 1 PM, and I enjoyed walking after sitting in the exam. After the interview, I walked back to the Foggy Bottom subwaystation (10 minutes) and took the metro to National Airport (about 20 minutes). The walk inside the airport to the metro station is probably another 10 minutes. For me, it's often less stressful to control my own destiny rather than search for a cab. To each their own.

lizdarcy, i am leaning towards using metro myself. thanks for your input. how crowded was it? i am thinking of catching taxi from metro to interview site because i'll be in heels. did you notice plenty of taxis in that area? other than this brief use of a taxi, i will likely mostly walk myself.

So the interview/test site is somewhere near the Foggy Bottom stop? That would work

I got the email about self scheduling.
Since I will be flying in from a small airport with varying fares depending on the travel dates, I'll likely try to match the testing/interview dates with the dates I can get the lowest airfare.
You know, just to add another layer of stress and all...

My recollection (after almost two years) is that the embassy suites was on M Street, probably at 22nd Street. The Foggy Bottom metro station is at I Street and 23rd. You can check it on a map. I did the same walk several times last month during training and it didn't take long. I wear sneakers and then put on the good shoes when I get to where I'm going. I'm trying to recall the taxi situation around the metro station. It's a very busy intersection, next to a big medical center, so you shouldn't have a problem getting a cab. I've just never done it myself.
