I've been a long time lurker but finally decided to join. It's been pretty negative today, and understandably so. We are all running a long race; some of us will get to the finish line faster, some later and some never. However, I threw my hat in the race, I will continue to run until it's over and if in the end I get knocked down and out before crossing that finish line, I will stand up, brush the dust off my rear end and move forward with my head held high. Why? Because I competed with some of the best in the country.
Since some of you are discussing football, I'll end with a quote from one of my favorite football movies:
You're 5 foot nothin', 100 and nothin', and you have barely a speck of athletic ability. And you hung in there with the best college football players in the land for 2 years. And you're gonna walk outta here with a degree from the University of Notre Dame. In this life, you don't have to prove nothin' to nobody but yourself. And after what you've gone through, if you haven't done that by now, it ain't gonna never happen. Now go on back

Many have fallen back during this Ironman or Ironwoman competition, which is the ALJ selection process. Unless one remains strong and focused on the prize, you will find yourself surrounded by despair and negativity. What do these feelings bring you? Go and enjoy life and your career. At the most unexpected moment, your wishes can become a reality. Now, I will enjoy some situational bourbon and wait until kickoff of the Michigan game. The selection process is now nick-named after me? Sweet.

A Notre Dame reference.... I am officially in love with this board.
Probably a bit too refined for our Special Ed Conference members. But keep sending that volley cheer on high. Go Irish. Beat Texas.

Lots in common with Mr. Starks? I doubt it based on your posts.

The big question: did any offers go out today, or was there a planning session to put out a lot of offers tomorrow and maybe even on Saturday?

Now go on back The finest sports film ever made and I am not a Notre Dame fan. I actually was discussing this very scene day before yesterday. Gang its been a rough, rough couple of days but the negativity is getting a little over the top. Its a great job and professionally it would be as good a job as I can imagine having but its still just a job. Its not life or death and if it does or doesn't happen for you (or me) it will not define whether we succeed or fail. Take a deep breath, a swig of your situational beverage of choice, and get back out there tomorrow and make something new happen in your life. Its going to be a long weekend enjoy it. I give you my favorite pregame speech from a sports movie. m.YouTube.com/watch?v=vwpTj_Z9v-c

In reference to most everyone lurking this forum, tonight the greatest line from a sport movie has to be ...
"(Bob) You had me at hello!!!"

Accepted an offer from Bob yesterday for Springfield MA, delayed start in January 2016. I thank all of you for the information you all have provided since 2013, and look forward to working with you all (yes, particularly those still waiting for the call).

I have never heard of a delayed start four months in the future. Can you tell us how that came about, if it isn't too personal? Pixie.

I presume you are either local or extremely brave for a January report date in Springfield. Did he give you a specific date? It would help us judge when the next certs will be pulled. We are ever the oddsmakers here.
