I'm in a hearing at a remote site and need advice quickly, so I text Funky...2,000 miles away!
tiger: Need help
funky: Ok. Will be there in 19 hours
tiger: Can you talk by phone to save you the drive
funky: Oh. Sure. I guess
With friends like funkyodar, you don't need enemies or waste money on comedy clubs! tigerlaw

Hold 'em Tiger. Why don't you two just IM? No need to use your "phone" in the 21st century unless you are driving.

I was away from the board for a day or so and missed the Honolulu entries. I am sharing a link to this video of the late and great Brah Iz for Gram Pop and everyone else who loves the islands.

I thought SPAM bashing was prohibited on this and all reasonable sites! I mean, how else can you so deliciously clog up your arteries and raise your blood pressure? What other salt-fest has its own movie, contest, and tribute from Monty Python? Give it up, the battle is lost! SPAM forever! (Literally, I think it lasts for ever!).

Well, Since Gaidan is on vacation(woohoo Gaidan, have fun!!!), i shall take a stab at his city of the day.
Chicago is our next city. i am hoping the locals will let us know more but to start things off, lets give some homage to the Cubs and their playoff pursuits!!!! LETS GO CUBS!!!

Illinois ODAR offices and number of ALJ's in each office (please correct me if I'm wrong):
Chicago - 16 Evanston - 12 NHC Chicago - 15 Oak Brook - 11 Orland Park - 10 Peoria - 9
Now, I would be remiss if I didn't acknowledge the band named for the city!

Did somebody mention Sousa?
Here's one of his for the 1893 World Columbian Exposition:
And another that was played for the Liberty Bell at the Fair, which some may find familiar:

Where is the Blues Brothers car scene chase? Or the scene from the diner? BTW after driving through Atlanta during rush hour yesterday I would rather face the zombies in Walking Dead. I think they were driving anyway.

I grew up in the Peoria area and went to college in Chicago - I don't think Peoria should be lumped into the Chicago metro area. You could probably get back and forth on weekends, but not during the week. It's about a three-hour drive. No train. Not sure about Megabus. The hearing offices closer to Chicago are Milwaukee and Valpo (connected by commuter train). I have friends in Chicago who do the daily train commute to Milwaukee, but I don't know about Valpo. Having experienced life in both Chicago and Peoria, I'm guessing that if you like living in Chicago (or think you would) you are probably not going to enjoy Peoria, if you are thinking of relocating. I personally could not wait to leave to go to college and have never looked back. To each her own, but when I think "crapland," I picture Peoria.

Kudos for including Steve Goodman! But then, how could you not? Once drove solo from Minneapolis to Chicago for the sole purpose of seeing Steve play at the Earl of Oldtown! One of the most incredible live performers I've been lucky to see (many, many, times). God rest his soul!
