Got mine at 12:10 pm. Obviously not a real surprise at this point in the hiring process, but still never feels particularly good (although the distinguished company helps take the edge off). Onward we go ....

Thought my third cert would be the charm, but just got my foad too. Congrats to all selected.

Me too. Kinda surprised that folks who made every city got one, but new Certs will be around the corner.

Got mine at 8:42 a.m. West Coast time. ✏️ I had initially deleted without reading it and trashed it, went on the Board, saw that the FOAD letters were being sent today, and went back to trash and found it.

What does it mean if I never got one before I was selected? I am just curious.

What does it mean if I never got one before I was selected? I am just curious. It reads: "Dear ALJ Candidate: I regret to inform you that you were not selected for an Administrative Law Judge position with the Social Security Administration (SSA) during our latest round of hiring. Thank you for your patience during this process and for your interest in working for SSA." If you were selected, they didn't need to send you one. If you never got one, we think it means they never closed out all the certs you were on during any round of hiring before they selected you, but we are not positive about this.

Thanks for the explanation. Rooting for all of you to get something the next go round.

My rejection letter is no longer a FOAD letter. The original rejection letter said "... you were not selected ...." The last two say "... you were not selected ... during our latest round of hiring." So now they're making it clear that there are other rounds to come and that even more rejection letters may be heading my way.

I'm with you Weekend Worrier!! Not only did it reference "this round of hiring," but it also thanked me for my patience. Of course, I'm a "glass half full" kind of gal.

Guys, it breaks my heart to hear of you getting the FOAD letters. But take a page from dropduff's playbook, and look at the glass as half full. As has been posted elsewhere, do not take the FOAD letters personally. You may be being blocked by someone who declined. I hope there is another cert soon, that another class will start before the holidays and that you will be part of it.

I got a FOAD letter in late March or early April, a cert email in late April and an offer the first week of June. I can't stress enough that the FOAD letter is just a step in the cycle. As long as cert letters keep coming you are in the game. It's only time to despair if cities you've been certed for previously are reported and you weren't included. Until then the glass is always half full. Keep the faith!

I have joined the FOAD team for this latest round. The last time this was followed up pretty quickly by a new cert. As a result, I will continue to think positively. A mass FOAD distribution could mean a decision to focus on issuing a new cert.

I have been cheered up and cheered on by many of you, as I progressed from the online testing to the DC testing and now playing the waiting game to see if I get an NOR or an e-mail saying, "you received the lowest score ever recorded on the WD, but thanks for playing..." I'm certain the FOAD e-mails are tough to swallow. But I hope you can remember that at least you HAVE an NOR, which is so much more than many of us on the boards. If you've gotten a FOAD because the certs are closing it means YOU MADE IT THROUGH the earlier hurdles, dammit. I'd like to return some of the support I've received by cheerleading you all into the mindset that FOAD is simply the necessary next step so that new certs can be opened, new positions can be filled, and you will be moving soon to one of those fabulous cities on your GAL in 2016.

Like Mike, I got the TBNT email before I got hired. In fact, I can't remember but I might have gotten it twice. And we ended up in The Best ALJ Class Ever.
People are getting transfer offers this week, usually a sign that something's going to happen with new certs. It looks as though there's lots of spots open at Mt. Pleasant right now.

Keep the faith. I got 2 FOAD letters before I was hired. It just happens. Doesn't mean you won't make it next time.
