Gary, would those certs then be based on register with 2013 scorers, or would those certs have candidates from the late summer testing in Aug/Sept? Any SWAG on how many people might currently be on the register if they added from summer testing?

We have not heard of anyone from that testing getting an NOR from OPM, so I think the certs will not include anyone from that testing. They will include 2013 testees and vets who tested prior to August who made it onto the register.

Any SWAG on how many people might currently be on the register if they added from summer testing? If you don't have an NOR when OPM sends the certs to ODAR you won't be on a cert. So if the certs come out today and you have yet to receive an NOR you will not get one. My guess is that if certs come out this within a couple of days of NORs the recently NOR'ed won't get certs. I don't think OPM sends them the day they are pulled - I assume there is some sort of double check - and I don't think ODAR sends them the day they get them because they have to put everything together to get the emails out. I could be wrong but I think the window for anybody who tested over the summer getting an NOR in time for the January certs is almost if not already over. Unless OPM sends the list over to ODAR along with others in supplemental certs that we have seen the last few times. |

I am not sure whether OPM adds people to existing certs when they make the register. It seems to me that happened to someone who won an appeal in time to interview for September, but my memory may be faulty.

Unfortunately, the SAWG date I previously threw in the ring re the deadline for Aug/Sept testers to get NORs and get on any cert before the new year (10/31) has passed. I find it unlikely our small group of testers will get results in time for any upcoming cert as speculated above. Might be wrong, would be glad to be wrong, but certainly have not gotten a NOR yet and it thus might not come until March as others have guessed. Good luck for those on the register now with what will hopefully be a late year cert for you.

1. A set of cert emails was sent and received one year ago today.
2. SSA has been sending cert emails on Mondays.
3. I believe a class of ALJs started 1/20/2015.
4. Word is the next class is scheduled to start 1/25/2016.
Make of it what you will.

There were a few they took from the prior certs in September or October.
The main body of offers started 12/16/2014.

The last round of cert emails were sent on Thur, 7/27. I agree on the date, but my calendar shows that as a Monday. |

Unless the agency is asking for certs for cities that have not already been considered and may have new faces to consider, my guess is nothing will be done until the folks being tested now get their scores. By requesting OPM test more applicants, the agency has already shown that it is not interested in looking at all candidates with NORs for the slots they want to fill.
If this is the case, those who were given tentative January 2016 report dates will either have their report dates pushed back, or just spend more time in their duty stations before going off to training.
