Yes, an e-mail with a link to a survey (1) allowing to expend GAL and (2) asking to confirm continued interest in the position.
This might be the time, for those that are tired of this process to bow out... I'm thinking particularly of those with NOR'S in the 80's... if that's your style.... Alternatively, you may wish to consider choosing states starting with "A", the "number 1" of letters. : )

It also appears those currently being tested, recently tested but have not yet received an NOR are eligible. Someone can confirm if they fall into that category, but it does seem that way.

I have not yet received an NOR, so I fall within this category.
So color me confused as hell.

Does someone have a copy of the complete list of cities that can easily be copied? I'd like to send it to my husband for his consideration, but it didn't copy well from the survey side. So much comes up when I search for GAL expansion or GAL list that it is hard to sort through. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I received the email. This is a relief because for I don't remember what cities I selected when I completed my application back in 2013 and I can't access it in USAJOBS. Also, I think there is a mistake in the email in the eligibility part at the top. I took the WD/LBMT in October '15 and although I received the email, the October/December testers don't appear in the eligibility part.

I am also assuming that this announcement does not alter the current cert. I can only imagine that folks lopped off some cities in the confirmation of eligibility for the 61 cities currently cert'ed. I would think those choices are baked into the current cert, but if one did narrow their choices at that time, would they then have the opportunity to put certain cities back on now? Apparently. But one is "stuck" with the narrowing, if any, one made in response to the current, active certs. Just wondering.

You are being sent this message because you meet one of the conditions below:
Your name appears on the current Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) register of candidates available for appointment consideration as an ALJ. (This does not apply to me)
While on the register you have temporarily suspended your ALJ application for appointment consideration until further notice. (This does not apply to me)
While on the register the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) has temporarily suspended your ALJ application as described in the ALJ Job Opportunity Announcement (JOA), ALJ2013-847661. (This does not apply to me)
During the period of August 31 - September 11, 2015, you self-scheduled your Written Demonstration/Logic Based Measurement Test session of the ALJ examination on-line. (This provision applies to me)
You participated in the Online Component Assessment in November/December 2015. (This does not apply to me)

I received this expansion email but no NOR. I did the D.C. Phase in November 2015.

Also note the email says:
"All applicants on the ALJ register will be allowed to make additional geographic location changes whenever the next ALJ JOA is posted."
As the speculations appears such a JOA is to be posted in April 2016 or so, I read this as saying another opportunity will be available fairly soon as well for a GAL modification. It seems OPM/SSA are not messing around with trying to get this hiring train going and maybe another cert(s) will be forthcoming 1) once the current testing crop are graded and 2) before the anticipated register refresh in the Spring. Pure speculation perhaps, but to borrow a TM'd phrase - an good/excellent time to be on the register.

Just remember the new rule requiring a new hire to remain in the location hired for a minimum of 15 months. Good Luck!

I'm a little nervous about filling this out, because it says if you don't want to change anything, don't and your current list will continue (I already listed everything originally). But I don't feel comfortable skipping the pages and leaving them blank, even though they say that's okay. Just feeling superstitious about that, I guess.

Ok. Before I open this survey I need to make sure I can open it again later right?

Ok. Before I open this survey I need to make sure I can open it again later right? yes you can, as long as you don't press "submit". you can also save your responses as you go, if you want to partially fill it out and then stop to think some more. good luck!

I fall into this category and received the email survey. I promptly filled it out and expressed my continued interest.

If more people expand than contract, which I expect they will, that means more candidates per city. Combine that with the fact that hundreds of new people will be joining the register soon. A bit further down the road: a refresh. I agree it's a good time to be on the register, but the competition is getter fiercer.

Didn't you, during the period 8/31 through 9/11, self-schedule your WD/LBMT for October? If so, then you indeed are on the list of eligibles.

The part that makes me more nervous, since I'm considering leaving my GAL as is, is not responding to the survey's last question, "Are you still interested in being an ALJ?"
