Greetings fellow Board Members. Tomorrow, I will begin my trip to my new duty station. I will attempt to avoid the 2016 blizzard. It has been a long road to the new position. I believe almost three years from the day I first applied. I remember all of the support I got while I was a lurker. The same holds true once I became a non-lurker. Thank you Pixie and ALJD for creating and maintaining this forum. I really thank all of you for the support and explanations you have provided over the years. You are an invaluable support group! My best wishes are upon you! May your dreams become a reality. I hope to one day meet Gaiden, Sealaw, Gary, LucklyLady2 and many others as members of the ALJ Corps. I am looking forward to meeting my fellow six and the rest of my classmates. I must admit that I am a bit concerned upon beholding the Great Pumpkin! I think she is going to steel the show! It will be a great class! See you soon!

Safe travels. I hope you keep us updated on the truth about being an ALJ. I think we all need to know the straight scoop, and you my sir, are a straight shooter.

Oh sealaw90, that hurts! I think that I have always tried to spread the word as to how the real life of an ALJ works on a day to day basis, especially from a military viewpoint. No, don't take my sentiment as a hit to you. This is in reaction to losing "Elvis". You have been a great source of truth and I applaud your tiger claws lashing out at folks who apparently have an agenda that is not in line with the one goal of this board - to discuss being an ALJ, from application to retirement. I often wonder why folks continue to bash ALJs but then apply to be one, but I have to think about my own caseload. I gave up trying to understand hidden agendas a long time ago, and just hunker down and do my own work till the dust settles and we can resume normalcy. We will need you more than ever, so please keep the posts and intel coming.

Thanks sealaw, I'm going to try and talk Elvis back onto the board as he was a fantastic contributor over the years.

Be careful in your travels and good luck. Careful when meeting the Great Pumpkin.
And thank you for the kind words. Pixie.

Be really careful traveling, most if not all of the roads here in the DC area, including Falls Church, are still not navigable.

Haven't heard from phoenix yet but who would I contact if he doesn't check in soon? 911 Operator: What's your emergency? Me: Phoenix hasn't posted his arrival yet. 911 Operator: So, you want to report a missing person? Me: I guess so. 911 Operator: What is the person's name? Me: Phoenixrakkasan 911 Operator: Is that his first name or his last name? Me: It's his board name. 911 Operator: Where does he live?
Me: I don't know 911 Operator: Where was he headed? Me: I'm not sure 911 Operator: What does he look like? Me: I have no idea. 911 Operator: How old is he? Me: Um, probably over 18.
I guess I just have to check the boards again in the morning and hope that our traveling friends in "The Six" have each made it safely to their destinations. Here's hoping that you all receive a friendly warm welcome in your new offices

No need to worry. I am here; just went out for dinner with a friend. Safe and sound. Do not worry too much. I have made it through far worst. Ready for tomorrow. Now, feel free to give me suggestions on what to wear.
BTW, thank you for asking!
Note: I hope I do not get reported as missing if I miss curfew during ALJ training.
