Can anyone think of a reason for them to update GALs for those who ultimately did not pass and we're not being placed on the register?

Since several reported status changes yesterday on a federal holiday, it is clear they are still updating information and finalizing scores. Additionally, some or most of this work may be being done by contractors because I doubt seriously they are paying overtime and holiday pay to OPM folks to accomplish this. Today should bring more news for some.

Can anyone think of a reason for them to update GALs for those who ultimately did not pass and we're not being placed on the register? When GALs were updated, did people get email notices of that change? There seems to be no particular method to this process

For what it's worth, my last name starts within the first 5 letters of the alphabet. Went to check for other changes, but only one was status complete. I clicked everywhere I could to see more. Also, I received the email because I for application update emails to be sent, did everyone else do that? Here is the text of the email: Dear nice guy, Your application status has been updated for the following opportunity(ies) in USAJOBS. Can anyone think of a reason for them to update GALs for those who ultimately did not pass and we're not being placed on the register? I think so. In 2007, we filled out apps and chose GALs at that time. It probably was just easier for OPM to get the choosing of GAL out of the way. As I recall, I did not get another chance to add or delete any cities until 2013; and I don't think anyone else had the opportunity to update until that particular cert (someone please correct me if I am wrong).

I received no email (yes, I checked my spam folder), but my status was changed to "complete" last week. Another variation, all which point to the fact that no one is out of this process yet!!

For what it is worth, my last name begins with G and my soc sec # was issued in the southeastern US. I didn't think to provide that info to you all on my previous post.
I received the email after midnight and checked USAJobs to discovery that "see details tab" had been changed to "complete."

Today should bring more news for some. I got e-mail from OMHA yesterday. At least some government workers were working. Maybe because of the snow in Washington that delayed things, or maybe when they really want to do something?

Hi everyone! I'm been lurking on the board for a long time so happy to finally post and join in the discussion. I'm in the August 2015 "welcome to test group" and took the WD/Logic questions/SI in November 2015. My external assessment has a complete status dated 2/11/2016. Fingers crossed that NORs are on their way. Good luck to all!

To back up Rusty, a good friend with the same area of the alphabet last name and same geographic social security number also went from SDT to Compete last night.

There seems to be no particular method to this process I can tell you I did not get an email notifying me of a GAL change, but OPM does have my correct email address and I have received emails in the past from OPM/Application Manager.
Honestly, I don't think this is being done in alphabetical order or geographical order.
The only order we figured out in the 2013 testing was your SSN - and I encourage everyone to NOT put ANY parts of their SSN on this public board....Hello?? Not too hard to steal a few identities from this board - even if the Chinese already hacked their way into OPM, I suggest you don't assist in the endeavor.
Fingers crossed for those who are awaiting the "complete" tab to appear, good luck!

If it was contractors working through then you can be certain that its not being done in any order you can follow. However, lets ask it like this "has anyone whose last name begins in the last 5 letters of the alphabet switched to complete"?
There have been times in the past when emails took several days to roll out.
I believe that NORs will start rolling this week but I wouldn't count on it happening the day after a holiday. I really don't think they are done updating things.

If indeed moving from See Details to Complete is a "tell" on OPM's part, does anyone find it unsettling?
