Oh - and one of the things that's the strangest to get used to? People calling me Judge. In my last job, I was the boss, and everyone called me by my first name (at my request). Here, it's "Judge", "Judge Jagvet" and "Sir." Hard to get used to ten years after I retired from Army Reserve. I called our HOCALJ "Judge" once or twice and she insisted (in a friendly way), that I use her first name. luckylady2 and I share HOCALJ. Same for you, LL2? The building security guards here are wonderful, friendly, even though I have to be screened each time until I get my PIV. Always nice, joking and friendly. The admin staff in my office seemed a bit surprised the first couple of days if I cracked a joke. Now they're getting used to me.

Not if - WHEN. Damn skippy! You might very well think that; I couldn't possibly comment.

You might very well think that; I couldn't possibly comment. So....gary's real name is "Skippy." The Scooby-Doo mystery of why he hasn't been hired yet just got a major clue. My money is still on meddling kids being involved somewhere.

That would constitute peanut butter discrimination. Has peanut butter become a protected class when I wasn't looking? It depends: Smooth or Chunky?

Once y'all find out where you're staying for training, can you let us know? My sister and nephews are going to come down for a weekend and I am hoping to get them their own room..\ Contact headquarters and see if hotel set up yet. It's probably Marriott on Jefferson Davis across a highway from the pentagon

Instinct had me doing a sharp-pivoted 180 degree.

So glad your first few days went well Gaidin and Luckylady2 . At least you made it to your office and got in the building, as I was not sure they would let you in.....just kidding. Good luck in your continued training. Keep us all informed as you go along. A lot of us are curious.

It is Wednesday.
All newly hired and on the job now ALJ's should be aware that Wednesdays are doughnut days at the office.
That means yes, you the new kid on the block bring doughnuts for the office.
True.
This is part of the Union contract or SSA POMS or in the HALLEX, somewhere, don't really remember, but trust the older ALJs when they tell you, yes it is in there.

Residence Inn by Marriott Pentagon City. Better known at the Marriott BOQ - you've got every drilling reservist and TDY officer who is working at the Pentagon staying there!!

I missed two Wednesday doughnut days already! Good thing I don't know POMS, HALLEX, etc., yet. Ignorance is bliss.
