To tag someone place the @ symbol in front of the board name. Deleting any spaces, of course. (!) Actually, it is useful to click on the hyperlinked blue Display Name of the member to see the official Board Name Username. For instance, to tag Judge Gaidin one does not type @gaidin. And many of the recent congratulations intended for Judge lucy have instead gone to New Member lucy (from 2010), whose notifications must be overflowing. Be careful out there! Excellent advice! Many have also attempted to thank ALJD -- but it is @ admin not @aljd.

So is there a link to this training? Does it answer the question I and others have had (on other threads) how do you get the resume spaced using the resume builder? Seems to compact it like Yahoo or other tools sometimes do.
Enquiring minds want to know.

^^^ Yes, how do you find these virtual training sessions? It would be nice to know how badly I have been screwing all of this up thus far!

Thanks for posting this item Pixie and anonymous.
This is actually useful for those looking at other jobs --e.g. ij and some other listings --where you may be required to use resume builder built resumes. I've seen at least two. It doesn't always say in the "required documents" that they need a resume builder built resume, but you find out at the end when you get to the stage submit resume, submit your beautiful PDF resume and it rejects. As a result, especially if you are time crunched, it's a good idea to have a resume builder built resume handy so that it's there if you need it. It's not a snap to use and if someone said "here's a job I just heard about--but it closes tonight" and you read the email at 10pm you don't want to have to find out at 11:30 you needed a Resume Builder built resume.
I'm not in love with it, but it's not horrible, it doesn't constrain you and you can put whatever you want and as much--so you can use your resume, just in chunks. I combined it with the advocacy functions of a cover letter, etc. Everyone has their own way.
You can also edit it. So if you'd put in salary and decide you don't want that there, you can edit--and that can be done quickly.
I'm going to post this thread on the "Plan B" thread which deals with other job options.
By the way to the anonymous person, our avatars are hardly caller ID so you can post this type of stuff yourself without fear of identifying who you are. Feel free to jump in!

Here is what our anonymous member sent me in response to my request for links: Just got off the Writing the Federal Resume training--most excellent with a lot of good tips and again they push at least trying to use the Resume Builder function.
Link below should take you where you need to go, just scroll through the page.
www.usajobs.gov/Notification/Events/
And they also pushed : hru.gov/studio_recruitment/studio_recruitment.aspx
There were technical issues, so I don't have the downloads yet on the materials. When I get them, do you want me to forward? They will be giving the classes next week and the presenter today said within a week or so they will be posting October and November dates for training.PS, do NOT freak when the top event looks like you missed out on the resume training! Keep scrolling, there is a class as late as Sept 25 and there will be more, like I said October and November dates are coming--OPM is very happy with the results they are getting from the training and is considering going from live training to a video, according to the trainer today. But remember, that means an OPMer is taking a couple hours out to do the live training, so they have to find time and personnel to do it. Lastly, both trainers I have had were expressly stating they want to HELP you find a job, and will give whatever tips they can.PPS, might just be our system here, but I had issues when trying to do the training in Chrome. IE or Edge or whatever Microsoft is calling it, worked beautifully.

Pixie . I am a little slow on the uptake this am. No coffee. I take it one already exists. No....there isn't a poll I am aware of -- Pixie is making a joke about the "class of 2016" applicants -- we are quite the "polling" group.....and have been chastised and criticized for it -- we poll to a fault! But I would like to point out -- in defense of my newbie Judge colleagues sophie22 and lucy and others....many have found the extra polls and extra effort to have been worth it based on the information we have gleaned! Just sayin.... I ❤️ Polls. LOL!!! But, for future polling, I shall pass the baton and strongly suspect that sophie22 will do the same.

As for my own board name, I've been Lucy for so long that I'd forgotten that I'd shortened it long ago. .
