jagghagg and pm agreeing. This Board is a wondrous thing.
Thanks, 'hagg for putting the matter in the best perspective.
I keep remembering the story of an ALJ as told on this Board who took ten (maybe more) years to get home and missed his kids growing up....

With all due respect to Pixie (and an extra saucer of milk), there is only one Puzzle Palace, and that is the Pentagon (with the exception of the Hall of Heroes). All others who claim the title are pretenders or johnnies-come-lately.

Actually, I thought the Puzzle Palace was the NSA - but what do us hounddogs know.

Actually, I thought the Puzzle Palace was the NSA - but what do us hounddogs know. Apparently a lot. Woof! Such was my understanding ( NSA = Puzzle Palace) - wasn't there some book entitled The Puzzle Palace written about the NSA - back in the early 80's? Since the NSA is far more secretive than the Pentagon (hard to believe, eh ?) it seems appropriate. When I was assigned to the Pentagon, with all due deference to Morgullord, it was often referred to as "the Concrete Cobweb" and the "5-Sided Funny Farm." ("They're coming to take me away, ha-ha, hee-hee, ho-ho -- to the Funny Farm, where life is beautiful!" For those of you who don't recognize that line, it's from Dr. Demento's Delights, Warner Bros. 1975.)

You have the advantage of me, JH; when I asked Branch about an assignment in the Pentagon, I was told that I could not be given a Pentagon posting because I had never worked there before.

I used to call it the Glass Palace, or something similar. I believe it was another poster, a good while back, who referred to Skyline as the Puzzle Palace. Not saying it isn't appropriate, but just that it probably wasn't me. Pix.

You betray your age by believing it is From DD And I betray mine by letting you know that the original is by an artist named Napoleon, in the 60s, at least ten years before DD first played it Usually could hear in some am radio stations here and there when it paused on the top 40 or whatever in rotation in some cities

But, kind Sir, I must admit that I, too, could have heard it in the '60's and on AM....and bought it on vinyl.....and maybe even on a '45 played on a Hi-Fi!!!!

And I was dancing to disco in high school during the era disco was actually considered good music. OK. That was an over - reach. Disco was never good music, but it was played alot for a while there!

Remember, Barkley, that I know how old you really are! And why you REALLY would know the name of Nipper! And since GE took over RCA in 1986 or so and Nipper became an Icon of the Past, I just wondered how many people would remember that little Fox Terrier.

I am big Clapton fan - my Zune has most of his songs on it. He can do no wrong to my ears!
And FWIW, I am a big disco fan, at least the most popular disco songs. At one point I had actually learned most of the dance to Night Fever in it's hey day...and I even admit that...
