Ok, so we have these PIA laptops that have to be manually patched every month as well as have passwords changed by all and we hardly have any personlly identifiable information on them. Region is totally anal about it. Meanwhile, we get a version of FIT flexiplace that HAS to be installed asap. It is almost useless. Our staff has already complained that they must enter the data without user name or ssn and then, they must enter all the fit questions at the office so that the network can pull data. Then, they must delete the fit generated decison and paste in their word decision created on the laptop. I have spoke with another HOSA and they had the same experience.
I guess everyone will still be generating shells at the office??
Why does ODAR have to make everything harder than it should be?

Good question. Plus, I don't know why we can't have two laptops -- one to write and one to view the efiles. Oh, well.

Good question. Plus, I don't know why we can't have two laptops -- one to write and one to view the efiles. Oh, well. Forget two monitors! You can't even use any old wired keyboard or mouse at home.Talk about carpel tunnel syndrome. Although they did approve one keyboard and mouse, they did not really advertise it because the regs(my interpretation and I am not a lawyer) say the federal gov't should purchase it for you and they don't want to. How bout them apples?

Y'all are so funny. I say request an ergonomic mouse for the office and then use the old gov't issue one for the laptop. Not that I know any actual people who would do such a thing. (insert guilty laugh here) Regarding the new FIT. Since when did they get the old FIT for in-office use to work properly. Every download causes more errors in the process. Depending on which shell you choose, you cannot choose the right age category or educational level, so the wrong section number propagates. . . I could seriously type it faster myself without the "assistance" of FIT. Did someone pay actual human programmers to design this thing?

Another thing that is beyond understanding is why this organization has never established a rational scheduling program. It's unbelievable that the hearings are still scheduled on paper, in day timer books. We have double schedulings, experts in two rooms at once, all the time. And why doesn't the database CPMS automatically update addresses from PCOM when people phone in new addresses? The silly decision writing programs are avoidable, but hearings failing because of incorrect addresses is just time lost.
