If I could read tea leaves, I would be rich. It makes no sense that the deadline for appeals would be extended without a reason, unless there is an administrative period for an agency response which the agency cannot meet unless it extends the deadline. I would have much preferred that the agency take an additional period of time which it could have used to provide candidates with a breakdown of scores on each part of the process. I wonder what kind of changes to the appeal process are being considered? This process is nerve wracking. If they drag it out much longer and the scores change, what difference will it make once the selections are made?
Aaargh!

If you reread the notice it indicates one reason for the extension is to determine whether additional information is necessary. No doubt, plenty of people, including me, have requested additional information, including a score breakdown, to determine whether an appeal is appropriate. I am hoping this delay leads to a score breakdown, which could give people the information to determine whether an appeal is warranted. I am delighted with this, especially in light of the budget delays. No hiring will take place without a new budget and I doubt whether a certificate will be requested by SSA until there is a budget.
This is the first indication we have had that OPM is questioning its procedure at all. That, in itself, is a good sign.

I don't recall ever seeing your score posted learnedhand. Providing your score is a completely voluntary choice. Please don't bring this up again.
