When you get home, shop for a red wine called...are you ready.. The Crusher! Congrats to you and all of the (hopefully) future class of '14! If I get to be in the class of 14, I am going to find this "Crusher" wine so we can all have a toast in DC!!! That's awesome. It isn't a single wine, but a group of wines known as "The Crusher". See the link here.

I think those scheduled for testing this week should take it as a good sign that it is almost noon and nobody has posted they showed up at OPM or the SI and were turned away. I wish everybody luck as I am about to leave after my 4 hours of shutdown time today. Ouch. I trust you won't have to put your hat out when this is all over.

For all those federal employees out there, I hear that retroactive pay may be voted on tomorrow. Any chance the bill will pass and get signed?

I heard the same thing, Benny. Never thought I would feel so grateful to receive something that I thought I was entitled to. The damage to morale is real, but maybe that is what they want. One of the knuckleheads actually said today that he was glad federal workers are getting punished.

I did see Boehner and Cantor speaking on CNN today and they said they would...I'm not sure whether it was pass it or vote for it. Either way, those are the 2 GOP heads in the House, so I'm guessing most (other than the Ted Cruz faction) will probably go along with them. At least, I'm hoping so.

One week we are the D*&n federal employees who make too much and the next we are whom we should be. With these two on board, everybody should get paid and I believe will. Let's just hope that they don't change their mind.

Well, the House passed the retroactive pay bill with no nay votes. Should be smooth sailing the rest of the way. No vote is yet scheduled in the Senate, but it should pass there easily. At least we fed employees can breath a bit easier now.

I always laugh at the folks who say darn, lazy government workers, then they say I suppport the military, when half the folks working at my ODAR ARE former military. SMH!

the federal police forces will also be "standing on that wall" 24/7, pay or no pay. Have you noticed that there are no reports of gov't workers going AWOL saying "no pay, no work?" When they called for volunteers to fill the "essential" positions, there was no shortage of volunteers who stepped forward even though everyone thought at that point, that we would not get paid in this atmosphere of economic austerity. We come up against the highest paid professionals in America and match skills with them everyday for a fraction of their salaries. I could go on but I will just end by saying thank you Congress. Thank you for finally doing part of your job.

Let's hope the retroactive pay bill is on the senate docket for Monday. Any delay just allows for more bickering !
