Ok, I'm game! I tried your avatar site and hope it works better than my previous attempts on other boards. Of course I know I will never have the "glam" shot of Pixie, or the Shadow's well, "not-so-glam" shot (sorry, don't smite me!) - but hey- I think my cat looks good!

Folks,
If you link your avatar to a picture located on your computer and not an online location, your avatar picture will disappear when you are no longer logged to this site because the site cannot find the location of your avatar anymore. So instead of a cool looking avatar, you get a broken picture icon.
Regrettably, because this is a free forum, we don't have the ability to upload custom avatar to this server for storage and retrieval.
Therefore, if you want your avatar to be seen by everyone all the time, please store it at an online location and link to it, not your personal computer's hard drive. Thanks and have fun! ;D

This discussion is way too technical for me. However, since I clearly will never be able to figure out how to obtain an avatar, at least I will not obsess for the next hour over the appropriate symbol to convey my intellect/compassion/humor, and modesty.

Even though I really just lurk on this site, I'll give it a go. BTW, tinypic is a good resource for avatar pics.

Alright I'm trying again- From Power Ties' post I understand the shrinkpictures website will host the avatar. I did download it, but I'm never sure how these things work. If it doesn't work, it's too bad because it is a real nice picture of me and my black cat.

Tootsie, here is some guidance I gave Shadow on creating an avatar: "You will need to find and join a remote server, such as PhotoBucket. photobucket.com/ is the link and it's free. First get a picture that is fairly small--I think I reduced mine to about 20kb. Crop to a square size--most important, or it will distort when downloaded as the avatar. You can resize using this link: www.shrinkpictures.com/create-avatar/Upload the square photo to PhotoBucket. Copy and paste the URL at PhotoBucket, I believe it is the middle link for avatars. Then go into modify profile on this board, do your password, etc. Then paste the URL to the avatar link. Type in the size as 100 by 100 pixels (cool word, huh?). Then hit modify or save or some such. These are broad instructions but you should be able to figure it out." It worked for Shadow, and he was (is) a jarhead. Maybe it will work for you. Pix.

So what do you all think? Should we cite to our ability to create avatars in the interview when we are asked about our technosavvy and our computer skills?

I believe I have this avatar thing down now . . . Mira más bien un lobo que un Wilddog. Pix.

Ahora que realmente no parece a un Wilddog. ¿Mira más bien un perro de rastreo, cómo dice usted en inglés, un Sabueso?

You lost me on that one about the jumping one of Gilligan's Island. I'm not old enough to remember that show! I was thinking something more like this: It certainly looks wild.

Or, perhaps this one as I don't think you are as wild as you would have us believe: I think that one is a better fit. Not so wild now! Pix.
