I just got this in my inbox from a long time forum member. "ALJD, below are the upcoming SSA interview dates as I know it. Please share it with forum members. " As the poster is a long time member in good standing, I'm humoring her on this one. Please feel free to ignore it if it's not your cup of coffee.

If we solve it, can the poster get us on the cert?

It's simple if one has a German Enigma code machine.

It's simple if one has a German Enigma code machine. You mean you don't?

So, if acurate thats pretty quick turnaround. [tbr]Maybe 4 panels doing 4 interviews a day each for 10 days? That would be 160 which may be enough after self eliminations.

Does anyone know from past hiring actions how flexible these interview dates can be? I have had a vacation planned for a year for the first 2 weeks in June. I know that OPM was flexible with the interview schedule they had.

I know that OPM was flexible with the interview schedule they had. My guess would be not very. OPM had a MUCH longer time frame to work with, and wasn't bringing in people from out of state to do the interviewing, etc. You can ask, but I would not be optimistic. As far as the number of panels, I'm guessing more panels, fewer days.

Get on the phone and use whatever lawyer skills you have.

I know that in the past they were flexible, but (I believe)only within the time frame allotted for interviews (at that time it was 3 weeks). If I remember correctly, they ran 5 or 6 panels and interviewed Monday - Thursday.

It never hurts to ask, but be prepared if the answer is no, that you cannot switch. Then, you need to make a decision, is the vacation or the chance at a position more important. Good luck and choose wisely.

Does anyone know from past hiring actions how flexible these interview dates can be? I have had a vacation planned for a year for the first 2 weeks in June. I know that OPM was flexible with the interview schedule they had. I would suggest offering the option: "On date X that you offered I could fly to DC from my vacation in Y. If that poses any problem for SSA, I could travel from home on dates Z." If you are coming from anyplace with reasonable transportation access, they will drive, train, or fly you both ways in one day. (Some people opt to come/go earlier on their own dime.). My spouse took a 6:30 am flight to DC and was back by evening.
