Also, plenty of running trails, albeit on concrete. And watch out for potholes I run. If there are others in the 09/15 class who would like to run (albeit "run" is a generic term.....avg. 11 min mi @4 mi for how fast and far info) I will likely be doing post class early evening jaunts. I have run the mall area multiple times over the years, but not familiar with trails in the area we will be training. Count me in for some runs!

My sport is cooking. Forget the running, except to the grocery store.

My sport is cooking. Forget the running, except to the grocery store. There is a Sur Le Table a few blocks down the street on Joyce Street in Pentagon Row, for anything cooking. In addition to the Williams-Sonoma in Pentagon City Mall. Both easy walking distance (as in, two short city blocks, or 'parking the car would take longer than just walking there!'). And it's right next to the Harris-Teeter. Also, for BagLady's interests, she will be within a mile of TWO fully stocked military package stores, at Henderson Hall and Fort Myer. HH favors a world-class wine selection, while Fort Myer has everything else. Surely someone in the class is a retiree or Reservist.... Not sure if they finished Long Bridge Park or not, but they were intending to include racquetball at one point. There are tennis courts a block away from the hotel at Hayes and 15th at Virginia Highlands Park. Nice safe park. Might want to talk to the folks at the gym on the second floor of Pentagon Row, which used to be a Bally's but now might be an LA Fitness.

Maybe I should have said "wunning" as in walk-runs and vice versa. I did some runs over the past week here in OK with heat indices in the 100's and have discovered (again) that I am no longer young as I once was. Looking forward to meeting with the runners in the group who will bear with my running and then...ok I got to walk some.. then run again and then ok, walk some more and then finish and then sit with a glass of sauvignon blanc. In other words, yes, my competitive run days are long over. So if you get my drift here as to my wunning style.

In the alternative to cooking, anyone up for yoga or Pilates?
